After finding this gem of a bed and breakfast, I plan to return again and again. Very comfortable and quiet, with spacious rooms, friendly staff and great decor. Very clean - inside and out. Easy parking too. I had the opportunity to have dinner with a friend in their restaurant on this trip. It was delicious and there was a... More

The McCloud Hotel is our choice for a restful stopover on a drive to Oregon. It should also be noted that the town's location has much to offer in hiking and fishing opportunities. The hotel was constructed very early in the last century (about 1902) to accommodate visitors to the McCloud Lumber Company. The early configuration provided small rooms with... More

The property is a gem at the base of Mt. Shasta. From the outside the hotel is historic, but the inside the guest rooms have modern amenities. I was fortunate to stay in Room 226 which was spacious and tastefully decorated. Everything in the room was considered and detail was not overlooked (the charging ports for your personal devices was... More

We were travelling from Crater Lake to Lassen Volcanic Park and we read that Mount Shasta was worth a visit and shouldn't be bypassed on the I5. Couldn't find anything online that took our fancy in Mount Shasta but someone else who had been in the same quandary mentioned the McCloud Hotel, so we booked. What a gem! From the... More

The new owners took over this hotel July 2015 and it feels like they have run the hotel for years. This was the last stop of a 7 day driving trip from the Bay Area up Hwy 101 to Ashland, Bend and back and we were ready to be home. We were feeling like one more stop was one too... More

Staying at the McCloud Hotel became an unexpected highlight of our trip. The food was phenomenal. We had two breakfasts and one dinner, and at each meal everything was delicious and perfectly prepared, from the freshly caught Steelhead from the McCloud River, to the homemade scones and granola. If they opened a restaurant in San Francisco, I'd go all the... More

From the moment we walked in we felt the warmth and the loving attention to detail. The lobby is spacious and very beautiful, full of history and wooden beams, stuffed chairs, a grand staircase, and an invitation to relax. The rooms are large, historically preserved but with all the amenities of a first class hotel. The grounds are extensive and... More

I spent two nights at the McCloud Hotel, not far off the 5 near Mt Shasta. The hotel was renovated in the early 90s and the interior is beautifully done. The rooms were spacious and the new owners have made sure that the beds are comfortable. Most surprising was the quality of the food in the restaurant. It was exceptional... More

Very clean, spacious room and bathroom. Good made to order hot breakfast in addition to fresh fruits, Granola and yogurt. Spacious common living rooms, library, verandas. New owners Gary and Cindy were gracious.

We adore this Hotel. It is a member of the Unique Inns group, which we find has very reliable well-priced and lovely historic or well designed buildings and rooms. With the exception of not serving dinners Monday & Tuesday it is perfect in every way. We will simply NOT TRAVEL on those days! Dinners have always been delicious, creative and... More
