I had two different rooms during my stay. The first night was Charles Miller, and it is absolutely awesome with a beautiful view of Mt. Shasta from four big windows and a large bedroom with comfy bed and very very nice bathroom with separate rooms for the Jacuzzi/sinks and the shower/toilet. Really well done. Only downside of this room is... More

We had the pleasure of staying with Kevin & Darlene in their wonderful, quaint hotel, the McCloud Mercantile over the Christmas period. McCloud is a little slice of heaven. It was a winter wonderland when we stayed. The hotel was so cosy & cute & we were so snug. Fabulous room & en suite. Gorgeous store & amazing breakfasts. Only... More

We stayed at this hotel on a touring holiday and were full of admiration for the owners, Kevin and Darlene, who had restored this beautiful property to provide a fascinating 'company store' and 1950's style eating house on the ground floor and about ten spacious and very comfortable bedrooms above. The rooms are all done with a particular theme -... More

This B&B has been exquisitely restored. The owners put in alot of thought, effort, and attention to detail to restore this beautiful building. The rooms are charming, cozy, spacious, and comfortable. I honestly can't say enough terrific things about our stay. The owners were extremely helpful, friendly, and hospitable. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We ended up... More

My husband and I needed a stopover from Timberline Lodge in Oregon to home near San Francisco. Trusting Tripadvisor, I booked the McCloud Mercantile. What a great place! Room (The Founders) was romantic, charming, huge and quiet. Kevin and his wife have completely renovated this 1899 building and have done some of the best interior design I have seen. Takes... More

The Merc is upstairs in an exqusitely restored big old wood building in the centre of town with squeaky floors. The rooms are very well appointed and vary greatly in size. Even the small rooms are pretty big. Your artisan soap is almost as thick as a brick. It is quiet. Your sheets are crisp fine cotton. Your bath towels... More

My husband and I had an amazing get-away in the George Miller suite at the McCloud Mercantile. We found great service from the staff, a beautiful old building fully restored, and a really amazing view of the mountain. The room itself was so nice. We had a jacuzzi tub for two, a fireplace lit and warming the room and the... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights here for a little Spring getaway. When we arrived they upgraded our room for no extra cost from the Friday George to the very nicely appointed and much larger Charles Miller room. The hotel and rooms have that authentic historic feel, but with modern conveniences. Our room had huge windows with a fabulous... More

Hubby and I stayed in the Shasta Wintu suite. The room was clean, quiet, and warm. The innkeepers are friendly, involved (though in no way nosy), and thoughtful. Prior to a previous visit, Kevin called me to let me know the restaurant in McCloud that Hubby and I usually went to was closed, and to make sure to get something... More
