We stayed her Memorial Day weekend 2014. We were surprised when greeted by a mushroom festival in the little town of McCloud (in front of the hotel). We stayed in the Railroad room and were able to sneak a peek at a couple of other rooms. All the rooms have such a sweet, unique charm. They have been restored very... More

Seriously - I don't need to lie on this update. I was able to take my lab with me to this perfectly beautiful place, they gave me special accomodations and I just go there to visit the mccloud falls and it ended up being the perfect trip. Totally going there again!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Clean and comfy...just what we wanted after a long day on the road with 3 kids. Hot cocoa and tea was available all night (perfect for my husband who works night shifts) and a hot fire was waiting in the 'lobby' area when we arrived. This truly was one of the nicest mini-vacations I have... More

My wife booked us the founders room for my birthday this year. I asked her to keep her plans a secret, she did, and I was absolutely blown away upon entering our room. Beautiful wood floors, a nice big tub, king size bed that was superbly comfortable, double head shower, a small area by the window to read, and to... More

McCloud is a great place to visit and the McCloud Mercantile Hotel is the perfect place to stay. The Mercantile takes you back to the early days of Northern California when lumber was king. Darlene and Kevin Mathis, your very gracious hosts, have expertly restored this fantastic piece of California history on Main Street, a nationally recognized Historic District. Rooms... More

Perhaps our nicest lodging experience ever. We visited for four nights in November 2014. A real sense of stepping back in time! If you want a really memorable getaway, in beautifully and uniquely designed rooms (we stayed in "Arts & Crafts") in a sleepy little town of 1000 very friendly people, this is the place. Darlene and Kevin (proprietors and... More

Great people beautiful room. All the amenities. very few people in the town this time of year which made it very quiet and nice. I love the mercantile store and the breakfast was great at the cafe, which was included in the room.

My husband and I stayed here, overnight, on our drive back up to Seattle from Los Angeles and we were both so pleased with our experience we felt the need to start up a tripadvisor account just so we could leave a review. First let me say that the people who work here are exceptionally friendly and seem to really... More

I've now been to the McCloud Mercantile Inn twice and both times the experience was top notch. I went once with a large group of girl friends as part of a Women On Wheels motorcycle organization getaway. The property works great for groups and they have a couple of areas where groups can congregate. Recently my husband and I had... More

I love this place! There is only one main building in this town, and it's the Mercantile Building. The building has a couple cafe/restaurants, some gift shops and then the hotel upstairs. The rooms are restored to keep the old feel, but clean and spacious. We went on a weekend couples trip and it was romantic! It's a great option... More
