What a perfect retreat in a truly unique setting. Rich is a great host, and nearby activities (kayaking in the bay, cycling on Cal 1, hiking Tomales Point) are worth driving cross-country for! Cabin is perfect for a couple, but would be a bit compact for two couples unless they are VERY close friends...not much privacy for those bunking downstairs.... More

What a wonderful and precious precious retreat Ravensview is. As soon as one arrives and drives up to the cottage a resonance of peace and tranquility wafts around and weaves a dreamlike quality around the weary traveller. We stayed there 2 years ago, but the lovely cottage and our stay there still brings smiles to our faces. The cottage is charming with lovely decor. It accommodated our five person family - a little tight, but certainly comfortable. The owner, Rich, is a delightful person and full of information about the area, and the location is spectacular.

The view from the back of this cottage looks onto rolling grassy hills, lit gold in the late afternoon sun. The pictures do not do Ravensview justice, it is a sanctuary that is one of the most special places I have ever visited. The cottage is cozy and lovingly decorated with everything you need and more. We were looking for an unplugged adult weekend in lovely Tomales Bay without the kids and found it at RavensView. The charm, environs and extremely relaxed pace were exactly what we needed. RavensView Cottage was even better than I expected - and I expected a lot. Cottage itself is wonderful - beautiful wood details, window above kitchen table with a view of the water, decorated with delightful character. More charming than pictures can show, views to die for, no TV, no cell reception, hot tub with cows grazing a few yards away, a bear of a dog (AKA "Tiny) for a welcome party, truly dog-friendly, friendly and helpful "innkeeper"...quite simply lovely and relaxing. Arriving at Ravensview Cottage is like coming to a dear friend's home - the welcome is warm, the cottage is a cozy and comfortable jewel box, as if someone has anticipated your wishes.
