Clean, quiet pleasant setting, exceptionally pleasant proprietor (Ron). We stayed there because we go hiking in the area and it's very well placed for Alpine County. The motel is 1/4 mile from Hwy 88, at the bottom of the gorge leading from Carson Pass/Hope Valley to Nevada. They turn the outside lights off at night (11pm, maybe); go out, it's... More

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days over the weekend. It's in a very nice spot, with a beautiful view of the mountains. A nice room, although the walls are VERY thin and you can almost hear your neighbor breathe. For some reason, when we got back to our room at 5pm, it was not cleaned... More

Two of us stayed here three days to cycle Luther Pass and Kingsbury Grade. The room was clean, good sized, and included a small refrigerator and microwave. Best part of our stay was meeting Ron, the proprietor, who is one of the friendliest and nicest people I've ever met. He was very accommodating, interested in our rides, and eager to... More

I organised 10 rooms at this motel as part of a month long group tour around the USA and I knew from the phone call months ahead that it was going to be a pleasant stay. We were not disappointed and when we arrived our host, Don was fantastic and accommodating and nothing was an issue. The rooms were lovely... More

We did not have reservations, but stopped and got the suite, which was two rooms together. The owner (can't remember his name), was very nice. He gave my great niece and nephew squirt guns to play with. Very friendly place. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets and blankets big enough to fit the bed and cover me. No... More

One of the very best lower-tier motels I have ever stayed in! This small family-owned hotel is at the intersection of Highways 88 and 89, just 6 miles north of Markleeville. The rooms have very recently been nicely remodeled, and feel very new. My single room (with a nice big bed) was $77 for the night. My room didn't have... More

3 miles from Turtle Rock. Clean. Organized. Reasonably priced. Awesome service. Rooms with microwave, fridge, AC and flat panel. Wifi enabled, although the entire area gets no cell reception with ATT. Highly recommended.

My fiance and I stayed here cause we did not want to stay in the campground where my son and his wife are the camp hosts. I am not a camper! They just got married and will have the reception in July or August and we will stay there again!!!
