Lovely hotel situated perfectly for trips in to Yosemite. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The deli is a lovely touch and there is a beautiful garden area to sit in in the evening when it isn't too hot. They made a tasty gluten free breakfast for me on request!

Here is a hotel/motel with all the charm and character of the past, but clean and updated. I stayed in a room painted purple with everything a traveler needs and nothing they don't. Parking right out front. Food a total bonus; it's a sandwich joint swamped by locals during the week, and the "Shut Up And Eat" concept is awesome-staff... More

My wife and I had a great two-night stay in early April 2015. Owner Jill and her staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room is old style -- nothing fancy -- but very clean, beds were comfy, shower was good. A hearty breakfast was free and variety and quality of food was excellent. Great spot to spend a few... We arrived at 2:00 pm on a saturday, after driving 5 hours. We were hoping to eat at the deli, which was closed. Two young women were standing around talking and greeted us coldly saying our room wasn't ready. A sign in front of the locked deli said the keys were in the door and to pay the following day.... We are sorry that you did not enjoy the charms of our small town. First and foremost, it is one of the safest places in California. The mounted police you refer to are sheriff's volunteers who help guide folks around town and keep the peace. As for the room, it did not smell until it was smoked in. We are... More

Great little place to stay if visiting Yosemite. Breakfast (included is very good), staff are very friendly. Welcome cookies in the room, Yosemite day trip advice and the lending of an annual pass were all nice touches. Also timed the visit with a great BBQ - excellent food and a birthday cake for one of our group! Would definitely stay... More

My wife and I stayed two nights at River Rock Inn while we toured Yosemite. It was quiet and comfortable enough there. We were looking forward to trying out the motel's cafe, but it was closed. Breakfast offerings were not bacon and eggs, but consisted in two sweet bread cakes, some very good fresh fruit, plain yogurt, and good coffee,... More

The place is old fashioned and tatty. Our room was painted dark purple and the had no door, my parents at least had a curtain on their bathroom. Despite being with hubby 14 years there are some things a wife prefers not to hear! The blinds did not work in either ours or my parents room, and they did not... More

We stayed at the River Rock based on Trip Advisor reviews. How any one could rate this place satisfactory I do not know. We stayed in much better motels for much less. I have now read the poor reviews and can associate with them all. Our room was dingy, sparsely furnished and not very clean. We had no bedside tables... More

This isn't your run-of-the-mill motel. Don't expect WiFi or plush amenities. This is a hundred year-old renovated building in the old gold country of California. I will say that the rooms are very comfortable and accommodating. The back patio is amazing at night. And best of all was the flexibility of the management to work with firefighters who desperately needed... More
