I am so glad that stumbled onto this hotel. My wife and I spend many weekends around Monterey and Carmel, and have found the full range of accomodations. But I don't think I've ever been as pleasantly surprised and consistently delighted as I was with Sanctuary Beach Resort. The views were great, the pool was large and clean, the rooms... More

This is a great place if you'd like to see the dunes and natural beauty of Monterey's coast but be prepared to drive into Monterey for fine dining if you are into that like we are. It is a short drive but you can feel isolated at the resort which is the idea I suppose. The staff was extremely nice... More

I read the reviews about this place and did a lot of research on where to stay in Montery/Marina. This was an awesome place!!!!!!!!!!! I would definitly return! The room was nice and cozy, great fireplace, comfortable beds. The views were awesome and going down to the beach and watching the sunset on the water was awesome!!!! We have two... More

we had the best room,a suite, pillows were comfortable, the fireplace was great!, kept us very warm, front desk needs to tell people not to deadbolt lock main entrance to building, we got locked out, the best ocean views!, you have to pay for anything you use, meaning, goodies in basket, any continental breakfast, ect., unless you get a package deal.... We stayed in a junior suite (room 613) for three nights during a mid-week getaway. It was wonderful. The room was clean, light-filled, spacious, and had a comfortable desk, king sized bed, a fireplace and patio. The views were of the dunes and ocean, and afforded us complete privacy. We loved it. The staff was helpful and courteous. A Borders... More

We stayed here for our 25th anniversary in a second-floor ocean/dunes view room. We loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful--even the housekeepers seemed genuinely happy and upbeat. The hotel is close enough to Monterey, Carmel, and Moss Landing, but then you get to go back to the peaceful sound of waves crashing on the shore and a... More

This was our second time staying at this resort. We stayed three days. Unlike our first stay last year, this time had several maintainence and house-keeping issues. Even after reporting the problems to the front desk, the problems were not resolved. To their credit, upon checking out we were comp'ed one night on our bill. While this is a cool... More

This is a great resort, consisting mainly of individual buildings with 2 or 4 units. The buildings are scattered among the sand dunes, and access is via golf carts on paved cart paths. The rooms are great, with a thermostatically controlled gas fireplace providing the only heat for the room. The beach is 50-150 yards away through the dunes. The... More

We booked a two night stay at this resort to celebrate our annaversary. The stay was for December 30, 31. When we arrived at the room, the bell hop could not get the fireplace to work, this was one of the reasons I booked with this establishment, was for the ambiance of the fireplace in the room. After some trying... More
