This is a great boutique hotel in Manhattan beach, close to the beach and restaurants. The rooms are great, very tasteful, comfortable, yet trendy (not like the standard which is cheap and faux trendy). We stayed at the Shade Hotel for a family wedding in October, 2009, and had such a wonderful time! Not only was the service superb, but the wedding that was held there was amazing. Stayed 1 night on business. Place is interesting because they do some nice, trendy touches like the cyclone fireplace and mood lighting. The room was well appointed and comfy. Toiletries were top-notch (shampoo, soap, and lotion). They even give you q-tips and cotton balls and I believe I read that they have other stuff, like toothbrush, in case you forgot.... more
