It is everthing it says it is not. It is not in a safe neighborhood if you are traveling alone. The room was stale smelling, musty and not in good repair. I stay at Holiday Inn Express locations all the time, and this is the worst. Their reveiws say they are only 1 mile from Sunset Strip...they are really 4... More

For the price of this hotel, you can't get much better - especially with the included breakfast. We flew in after a horror 15 hour flight where we didn't get any sleep and it was 10.30am when we arrived and they hurried to get us a room that we could check into. This was a blessing in itself as we... More

This is an average hotel with average rooms, but the location is good for touring Hollywood and it was easy to get downtown to the convention center. The staff was very helpful - our internet access did not work at first, but the cable was replaced quickly. The breakfast was enjoyable - the cinnamon rolls were especially delicious. We felt... Our room was a little dim and cramped but generally fine. The hotel seemed safe/secure, the breakfast was quite decent, and the location was pretty good, being right around the corner from the Walk of Fame etc. Good value for what and where it is.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn during the Oscars in 2004 and I have to say the staff there are extremely helpful. They helped us book numerous taxis/tours and nothing was too much trouble. Even the bartender was very friendly! The little restaurant is nothing special-food is ok, but as it is a budget hotel we didnt expect anything posh!... More

Since I wanted to stay in Hollywood, I couldn't have picked a better hotel. Reasonable price, good breakfast, nice shower, thick towels, nice sheets and pillows and comfy bed. The room was not big but it did have 2 double beds, 2 chairs, a table plus an armoire for the TV and drawers. The hotel was very secure. The refrigerator... More

Pros: Conveniently located hotel - close to walk of fame and most Hollywood sights. Secure parking. Cons: Smelly room, didn't really feel in a clean place there. Definetely too expensive for the room quality. But, as I mentioned in the title, you're paying for the convenient location. Although the neighbourhood does not look too inviting, we felt OK (regarding safety).... More

My wife and 2 young children recently stayed in this hotel for 2 nights after flying from Australia. We rented a car and found it quite easily. The hotel is certainly not luxury but is excellent value at $104. The room had 2 doubles and was adequately sized although not overly large. Bathroom and room facilities were fine. Complementary breakfast... More

My family and I stayed there in January. The first room reeked of fresh booze and had red ants in the closet. They were nice and apologized and moved us to another room. That room was dirty and the sheets were stained with a black substance, but we were too tired to move again. Very pleasant at the front desk,... More

Visiting from Ireland, I stayed for four nights with my wife and teenage son, and one extra night on my own. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere warm. A simple but quite generous breakfast buffet was included in the price, and the location is very convenient to stores and restaurants. Parking was no problem. We thought... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
