The hotel is small but comfortable, if slightly old-fashioned and really conveniently located, with helpful staff. Breakfast (cereal and fruit) is provided in the lobby and hot drinks and fruit are available all day at no charge. There is a computer in the lobby too, in case yours packs in. The atmosphere is friendly, perhaps because a lot of the... More

We went to check in to the hotel and do to the little parking near the lobby, we parked in what we thought was a loading zone. While talking to the employee at the front desk a man barges in the door screaming at my 18 year old daughter to move our car. He then proceeds to call her an... More

After a bad experience in a different hotel I moved here for the last 2 days of a business trip. The room was adorable with a bay window and window seat. The bed amazingly comfortable. The old L.A. charm was in every detail. Skip the big name hotels and try out this little gem.

I went here during spring break and stayed to tour the UCLA campus. The hotel is very close to UCLA - around a 10 minute walk to campus. However, the condition of the room and price were average. The room was quite old, looking at the interior design. The lighting in the room was quite bad, and our bathroom was... More

If you are seeking medical treatment at UCLA, this is a quaint place to stay. It is easy walking distance to campus. Likewise, the neighborhood is cool - with restaurants and a wide variety of shops. The place feels like your grandmother's house.Older building with classic furnishings and quiet Mozart piano music playing in the lobby. I appreciated the fresh... More

Staff, facility and features were excellent. Vintage character and breakfast added to its charm. Staff were friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations. We will return if we are in the area again.

This was a nice, friendly boutique hotel. As seems to be the norm in this neighborhood, the evening front desk staff, while friendly, are not nearly as helpful as the day staff. The room was nice, but not exceptional. The room arrangement was unusual and there were burned out lights, no security chain on the door, and strangely there was... More

The Hilgard house is on the South East corner of the UCLA campus. Everything in Westwood and at the University are in easy walking distance. Our room was large for LA and quiet. There is no business center or restaurant, breakfast is the basic cereal, bagels, and coffee. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with directions and suggestions. Internet... More

The best things about this hotel was its location close to UCLA and because there are a number of restaurants in the vicinity. Had it not been for the convenience, there is little to recommend this property. Service was patchy with only one front desk person appearing to give much of any concern for guests and the remainder appeared so... More

When visiting or touring UCLA, stay at this hotel. Great location, friendly staff, small but nice continental breakfast, charming, opposite of big box hotel which is nice. Rooms well appointed, free parking and internet. Make sure to ask for UCLA price!
