The staff was very kind and accommodating. It was hard to beat this price for such an amazing location. This is an old building so this is the place for you if you're looking for character over modern amenities and perfection. My hubby and I loved it! The room that we got had a kitchenette that we would have gotten... More

This place was amazing. I booked another room on the boardwalk before this one on a different app for the same weekend. Needless to say it was well worth going on the fly the next afternoon on the boardwalk looking for vacancy. Boy did we find this lovely beauty and regretted the booking the night before at the other place.... More

This is great, I'm so glad you found us! A week or so ago I was talking with some guests who were on our 3rd floor balcony and they were having a blast watching the after-hours antics of the people on the Boardwalk. "Better than television" they said and that is hard to argue! There are some oddballs around here!... More

Been to LA 3 times now and always stay here! Would definitely recommend to friends. Just a couple points... Love their new rooftop patio very swanky and great place to chill. However, it seems they are in the midsts of making other improvements. On some floors there are no baseboards and could use a paint job but that's very minor... More

We're humbled and appreciative of both your constructive criticism and your praise. To elaborate upon one of your points, we are slowly but surely renovating our hallways so what you noticed in terms of painting and wood-work will be finished soon! More

This was one of the best places I've stayed in ever. They have full disclosure with the noise and the area. When booking you should be aware you are right smack dab on venice beach. If you are looking for peace and quiet you might want to rethink this hotel. The history behind it is amazing. The staff clearly takes... More

I love this neck of the woods and staying at the VB Suites was my idea of a perfect holiday. Talk about ocean views, colourful neighbours and everything at your finger tips. I had a first floor apartment that was self contained, clean, spacious, bright and light, warm and ideal for the purpose of my stay. Hotel staff were great,... More

Wonderful feedback here; we appreciate it! A lot has changed here since you last stayed... we added a roof-top deck and upper-floor community balconies. It would be nice to welcome you back again all the way from Melbourne, Victoria! More

I had planned a trip to LA with my boyfriend, and we were in search of finding a hotel to stay. We has primarily chose Venice Beach Suites and Hotel as it was close to Santa Monica and was conveniently located on the beach. Parking was a bit of a work as they did not offer a specific lot, but... More

I humbly apologize for the sub-par stay you had with us, Amanda. While there is not much we can do about the outside noise (yes, the neighborhood around us can be noisy day & night, especially on weekends...) we can certainly have the bed replaced in the room that you stayed in. More

We arrived VERY early and the hotel wasn't open yet so we had a somewhat eye opening couple of hours before we could get in ( point to note if you are flying in early). Venice Beach is certainly a place that is great at the right time but a bit shady outside of that. Be sure you know why... More

Excellent feedback here; sage advice. Being a boutique hotel, we have limited office hours (9am to 9pm each day) so it is wise to keep that in mind pre-arrival. More

We stayed at the Venice Beach Suites & Hotel for two nights. The staff were really friendly and helpful. First impressions are not at all positive. Both the surroundings and the hotel ground floor don't make you feel confident you made the right decision staying here. However the welcome from the office was warm, professional and helpful. The room on the fourth floor was clean and comfortable as well as giving us a view along the beach. We arrived... More

We're glad you enjoyed your experience and apologize that you encountered our ground floor during a state of refurbishment. The needed repairs you mentioned were related to our new, upgraded sprinkler system. After install, we decided our hallways deserved a face-lift with new paint, lights, wood-work and carpet. Progress! More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
