My family got together this weekend at Sportsman's Lodge. We spent alot of time at the beautiful pool area with the kids swimming and the rest of us relaxing, eating and catching up. Will, the bartender, made us feel very welcome, dropping by our table frequently to make sure we had what we needed, keeping things clean and overall making us... More

We enjoyed our stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is expensive but nice. Be warned though that walls are very thin and you can hear everything next door. We love the history of the hotel and would recommend it to anyone. Be aware as well that L.A. might be at least 30 min. away. But it is an fairly... More

After reading reviews before we left, I thought maybe the Sportsman lodge was overpriced but we were wrong. The staff are really helpful and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for you. We got upgraded to a suite which had the usual coffee facilities and was very spacious over looking the pool. The hotel have a complimentary bus which leaves three... More

Stayed here for 3 days. The hotel prices in relation to quality were way out of line. Their prices for services, and have you nots were like staying in 5 star hotels on sunset in west hollywood but in reality it is no better than a motel 6. Won't be staying here again that's for sure!

I'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us. Our prices are in line with our competitors and would never be $500+ like the 5 star properties you are referring to in West Hollywood. Our rates do fluctuate based upon availability so perhaps you stayed with us during a busy time More

Stayed here for couple of reasons: we were attending an event near Universal Studios and wanted a bit better value than what immediate hotels were charging. Also we knew they'd recently gone through a major renovation which really was nicely done. Walking around the main street was more fun than I'd thought with small, interesting shops and nice bakeries.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for writing your review. You are right, there are some amazing bakeries in the area which can be a little dangerous if on a diet but might as well enjoy them while we can right? We hope next time you are in the area you will make us your home base! More

We booked four nights at the Sportsmen's Lodge so we could attend a family affair in the area. The hotel is clean, comfortable and convenient to the major roads and attractions. The restaurant at the hotel is reasonably priced for breakfast and lunch with a decent selection. Our room overlooked the pool which I would imagine could get somewhat noisy.... More

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we are sad to hear your stay was less than stellar. Our pool is heated year round so even if it isn't typical California weather our guests can still enjoy a nice dip. I completely agree with you regarding the parking situation and I am so sorry you had to deal... More

Hotel/rooms very clean, sparsely furnished Bare walls which sometimes causes voices to echo. Apparently there is an "event center" on site. The Sunday night we were there, there was an event going on; we were on the 5th (top) floor and the noise/music was very loud, even though we turned up the television volume. Lasted for hours. Irritating. We mentioned... More

The property has been updated with great colors. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. My family loved the coffee shop. As a frequent traveler to the area, I stay here everytime.

This hotel is great! I got tickets to be on The Price Is Right, so my buddy and I flew out to California on our own (We are 19.) This hotel was so welcoming and vibrant! Beds were very comfortable, hotel was very clean, food was excellent and not very expensive. Staff was very considerate, and the rooms are so... More

Low key, but nice rooms recently redone. The size of the room was OK by NYC standards but a bit on the small side by LA standard. Good vibe and we liked the balcony overlooking the pool. Not a luxury property but a good value. The bar/club adjacent to the property was pretty hip.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us! Since we are a Historic Hotel our standard rooms average 300 square feet and our largest room is our Studio Suite that averages 400 square feet but the sizes do vary a little bit depending upon the room location. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! More
