The rooms really need upgrading--soiled carpets and bedspreads, who-knows-what sticky stuff on the phone. Clock radio did not work. Outdated fixtures in the bathroom and poor lighting throughout. Put a towel on the seat of the desk chair as it looked sticky too. On the other hand, check-in was friendly and unproblematic and we paid $99/night. In these days of... more

I’m a great believer in speak as you find, I hadn’t checked out any reviews prior to staying at the Wilshire Plaza and upon reading on my return was surprised by the mixed views and therefore felt compelled to leave an account of my own experience. Upon arrival check in was extremely smooth, we were staying on the 8th floor.... more

We booked this Hotel through cityandshow.com, getting a great bargain of £500 for 9 nights, split between 2 per room makes just £250 per person, which cant be beaten! We travelled in a group of 4 to LA and found this hotel to be a perfect base for exploring the city, and whilst it was a little far out from... more

Myself, my husband and my 2 sisters stayed in this hotel and it was nothing short of disgusting. There were burn marks in the 'smoke free' bedrooms, a smell of urine, loud trucks keeping us awake at all hours of the night and above all, it was not within walking distance of a decent restaurant or pub. This hotel was... more

We stayed at this hotel from the 30th June to 5th July. Having read the reviews we were nervous but I honestly cannot see what people have to complain about for the price you pay. Check in was spot on and "Keith" was very accomodating in getting us a nice room facing the hollywood sign. (the quieter side too). The... more

My friends and I (from Norway), stayed here for 9 days. Check-in went well, and the staff was charming and polite, as well as serviceminded. The rooms we're just what we expected, since the prize was low. Not large but somewhere inbetween. It was clean and didnt smell like an ashtray, even though it was a smoking-room. The showers needs... more

Location of this hotel is the best thing about it - it is located on Wilshire blvd, the main street in LA, a rather safe location. Bus stop across the street, as well as metro station. When we asked the taxi driver that drove us to the hotel is this place safe, he said: This street good, one street up... more

The room I stayed in was horrible. Stained old carpet. Water stains on the ceiling. Tile broken off in the bathroom. Black mold on the grout in the shower in numerous places. Musty smell. Sheets had spots where they were very thread bare, almost to the point of holes. Very loud traffic noise coming from Wilshire. My room was not... more

I stayed here for a few nights and it was not all that great. I had been at another hotel in hollywood the week before and wished I had stayed there for my entire stay. This hotel at one time was most likely a luxury hotel. Not anymore- It really needs to be remodeled very badly. The carpet in the... more
