This was a last minute booking after I'd landed at LAX. It was chosen for it's availability and very low room cost. You get what you pay for. I'll start with the negatives: -The room was basic, outdated and not really very inviting. -The TV didn't work. Repairman arrived quickly to resolve the issue of it turning on, but the... More

This hotel is located a couple blocks from Union Station, Flyaway bus to/from airport and metro lines. It’s just across the street from Olvera Street, a popular Mexican village which is filled with street shops and Mexican restaurants, and 10 minutes walk from Chinatown. Also, stop 37 of the sightseeing tour bus (Hop on Hop off) is one block away... More

You really do get more or less what you pay for...relatively inexpensive...set relatively low expectations. Pros: Extremely convenient location: minutes from Union Station with bus to LAX, metro line, trains, DASH line etc. and a block away from Olvera St. a popular Mexican marketplace filled with great restaurants and crafty street shops, walkable to downtown L.A, civic centre and performing... Located in Chinatown. Nothing fancy, spend more money and stay at a nicer hotel. Friendly staff. Big room but it was very dated. Big bathroom and showed/tub area. Close to interesting and fun things too do. Not too many restaurants in the area.

I also chose this hotel because of its close location to Union Station. Finding the parking lot was tricky but there was an attendant who came out and directed us in (we arrived late at night). Staff was pleasant. Hotel and room were outdated appearance-wise. The room was decent but for the price paid, it could have been better. Oddly... More

I chose the hotel because it is close to the train station ( you can walk on foot ). The rate was 109$ before tax. The room and bathroom were clean. The included breakfast is very simple but ok (coffee, cereals, milk, bagels and orange juice ). If you need lunch before the train departs i really recommend Phillipe sandwiches.... More

This small hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Los Angeles Union Station. It is the closest hotel to the station. I stayed one night after arriving in L.A. on the train from Chicago. The staff was friendly and allowed me to check in early. My room was large and the bathroom was huge. The furniture was pretty worn... More

A ten minute walk (max) from Union Station, the MPH provides a comfortable, good prices stay. The decor is a little dated but our room was clean and quiet with a small fridge. Only thing not provided was a guest laundry. Breakfast was basic but free nice bagel and fresh fruit. Staff were help and pleasant. Olvieda Street sits between... More

We rented our SUV at Budget at Union Station so we needed hotel in the area for an early train to Seattle. From our room we could actually see the driveway for rental returns. A wonderful Chinese man checked us in flawlessly. We needed a recommendation for a Chinese restaurant in the area. He was spot on - great food.... More

I was very pleased with my stay at the Metro Plaza Hotel in early April. My bus arrived a couple of hours late, so it was close to midnight when I arrived at Union Station. I was going to take a taxi, but the cab driver told me, "You don't need a cab. See that big red neon M -... More
