So many hotels have star rating preposterously above their real level, that finding a hotel, which under-rates itself is pleasantly refreshing. Metro Plaza definitely deserves a 2.5 star rating. It's centrally located, has decent, even interesting rooms (those with king beds), rooms are quiet, bathrooms updated, views are open, parking is cheap ($4), breakfast is a frugal buffet, but hey,... There are probably three basic things that most travelers look for today: a clean property, friendly service, and reliable internet. If you're willing to accept one out of three, then the Metro Plaza is your kind of hotel, otherwise you need to give it a miss. While in a good location, poorly trained staff and an unreliable internet service completely... More

We chose to stay here for one night coz of two reasons: (1) It is close to Union Station which hopefully would be easy for us to locate after we landed (2) It is close to China Town which is the pick-up point for our Grand Canyon tour the next day As expected, we took the Flyaway Bus to Union... We come here at least once a year and stay here because of the location and quite honest the price is reasonable. This past time we were very disappointed, we had 5 rooms on the 4th floor and 2 on the 3rd floor. The hallways on both floor smelled had a very strong pot odor, we had to run to... More

This place it ok, free coffee all night, the breakfast didn't have a huge variety but it was decent. The price was cheap ($95 off season). The room was decent (we got a street view) i didn't have any problems just that you had to pay for parking regardless of your staying at the hotel ($4). If you're just looking to hangout... More

Stayed for one night while visiting L.A., booked a room at 124$/night (all taxes incl.). We knew that this was 2 star hotel and didn't expect much, but the smell in rooms and elevator was too much even for 2* hotel. Rooms are OK in size with no closet and old-style 500pounds AC unit under the window. WiFi was offered... More

After a 20 hour flight from Sydney and then a 2 hour bus commute from LAX to Union Station, this hotel was a comfortable reprieve. I had to be on a train to SF in the morning and this hotel is the perfect commuter hub. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the shower hot and the breakfast made... More

OK, first the best things: this hotel is located perfectly for Union Station, Olvera St, Chinatown and Philippe the Original. It's the closest hotel to the attraction, and for a quick stay & to be close to the action it's the best option in the area. There's free breakfast, which includes bagels, cereal, tea, coffee, toast & juice, which was... More

I will say it's a good choice for 1 night stay and it's in Chinese town neigborhood, so nice to try some cheap and traditional Chinese food here. That's it. But breakfast is just for making you not hungry, really simple supply.
