I also chose this hotel because of its close location to Union Station. Finding the parking lot was tricky but there was an attendant who came out and directed us in (we arrived late at night). Staff was pleasant. Hotel and room were outdated appearance-wise. The room was decent but for the price paid, it could have been better. Oddly... More

I chose the hotel because it is close to the train station ( you can walk on foot ). The rate was 109$ before tax. The room and bathroom were clean. The included breakfast is very simple but ok (coffee, cereals, milk, bagels and orange juice ). If you need lunch before the train departs i really recommend Phillipe sandwiches.... More

This small hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Los Angeles Union Station. It is the closest hotel to the station. I stayed one night after arriving in L.A. on the train from Chicago. The staff was friendly and allowed me to check in early. My room was large and the bathroom was huge. The furniture was pretty worn... More

A ten minute walk (max) from Union Station, the MPH provides a comfortable, good prices stay. The decor is a little dated but our room was clean and quiet with a small fridge. Only thing not provided was a guest laundry. Breakfast was basic but free nice bagel and fresh fruit. Staff were help and pleasant. Olvieda Street sits between... More

We rented our SUV at Budget at Union Station so we needed hotel in the area for an early train to Seattle. From our room we could actually see the driveway for rental returns. A wonderful Chinese man checked us in flawlessly. We needed a recommendation for a Chinese restaurant in the area. He was spot on - great food.... More

I was very pleased with my stay at the Metro Plaza Hotel in early April. My bus arrived a couple of hours late, so it was close to midnight when I arrived at Union Station. I was going to take a taxi, but the cab driver told me, "You don't need a cab. See that big red neon M -... More

Flying into Los Angeles to take the Coast Starlight train to Seattle, we elected to again select the Metro Plaza hotel since it's .2 miles from Union Station. We took the Flyaway Bus from the airport for a screaming deal of $8.00 each, unloaded an hour later at Union station and took the short walk to the hotel. Checkin was... More

First off, this neighborhood can look pretty intimidating, especially at night. But the hotel is right near Olvera Street, Chinatown, Dodger Stadium, and Union Station. So it might work out O.K. if you don't mind just a basic room with few amenities. I walked a bit at night and had no trouble, but there were the usual cast of street... More

You're not staying in luxury with this one. It's clean but the room was a bit old and a little bit shabby but it was bearable. There's a lot of small details throughout the hotel that added to the shabbiness. One of the elevators was out of order and there is this sign that said they reserve the right to... More

The hotel is an convenient location , small stores and a few restaurants neary by. The parking for $4.00 is a great deal for this area. Rooms are spacious and clean. The front desk is friendly. However the internet is too slow and as a business traveller I ended up going to a fed ex nearby at tokyo town to... More
