It was not as I was expecting. Low then average. But the place is near to union station. So if u are using trains and metro then it's very near to that. Nothing good about that hotel other then that. Room was very noisy. Can't sleep in the night also.

Arrived at Union Station and walked 3 blocks to hotel and will catch train to San Jose. Hotel is near Olivera Street (1 block) and Chinatown. People at desk were nice, room seems nice and well maintained. Good for our needs. Breakfast was ok for starter.

I was looking for a hotel that was walking distance from Little Tokyo, Chinatown, El Pueblito, the Disney concert hall, etc., and I found it at the Metro Plaza. I also had budget constraints, but I wasn't disappointed with this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the parking was free and easy, and the room was clean and comfortable.... More

This hotel is within steps of Olvera Street (and the delicious avocado sauce-drenched taquitos at Cielito Lindo), Chinatown, Phillippe's and Union Station, and is walkable to Dodger Stadium and Grand Central Market among others. The room is very no-frills but we got a great rate and it was super convenient to hop on the Pacific Surfliner in the morning. One... More

We were bicycling through L.A. and needed something affordable near Union Station. We picked the Metro Plaza Hotel while searching on Trip Advisor. Four story building across the street from Olvera Street and maybe two blocks from Union Station. The front desk people were friendly and the lobby very clean. They do serve free breakfast, looked like continental style, but... More

I recently stayed at the Metro Plaza Hotel during a business trip. My goal was to find an inexpensive yet safe hotel near Union Station. I was very pleased with this hotel. The hotel is old, and is showing its age. However the room (end of hall, 4th floor) was extremely large, had a sun room / kitchenette combined, plus... More

THIS IS A 2 STAR HOTEL at a 4 STAR PRICE. Although it is Cheaper than a few Places in the area I would rather pay $20-$30 more for a REAL 3-4 Star Hotel a bit further from the road. The bed bugs I got has made me spent over $500.00 in pest control expenses. DO NOT STAY IN ROOM... More

We stayed at the Metro Plaza Hotel recently. Although it is old inside, it is clean, and the staff are very friendly. They had a continental breakfast that was enough to fill us up (although no protein unless you put milk in your cereal). What was great was that it was a 3-minute walk to Union Station where we caught... More

I stayed here one night before leaving from Union Station on an Amtrak train to Chicago. Is only about two blocks from the station so you can easily walk from one to the other. (However, I'd think twice about walking around here at night; there are quite a few homeless people and there won't be many other pedestrians.) Olvera Street... More

Older Hotel is modest and basic, ok for a night or two. Close to Union station. Not very clean, found hair on towels and sink faucet dripped all day and night. Front desk staff was not helpful and not very friendly. We asked about finding a certain street and were told to look it up on the computer. Continental breakfast... More
