The Sheraton is within the Macy's Center which was a surprise to find a hotel in a shopping mall. I was told there is a fitness center, but in fact rather than a hotel facility it is a Bally's fitness within the mall. The hotel charges for internet, but there are free computers and printer in the lobby which was... More

This was a splendid hotel and it provided all the necessary amenities. For instance, free WIFI in lobby is huge and the link @ sheraton experience was phonomenal. Very close to a metro station which makes it very easy to commute and in the heart of downtown right by all the necessities wallgreens, etc. I managed to snag this on... More

I stayed here as part of a week long stay in LA where I also spent nights in the W Hollywood and the SLS Beverly hills. The SLS is a beautiful hotel, but for my final 2 nights I was mainly going to be working, and I didn't see the point of spending $600 a night on a suite when... More

I wish I had read these BAD reviews before I booked as they all came true. They made a mistake with my parking bill, there is nothing in the area except for a lot of harassing homeless people, the hotel does look run down, the heating/cooling system was so extreme even when I change it but a few degrees and... The hotel definitely deserves all the bad reviews it receives. Before booking I saw the many, many bad reviews but I also saw a really great deal - well, you get what you pay for. Firstly, the location is not for tourists as it's in a business area and all there is on the weekends is the tiny mall it's... More

I stayed here for six nights during a recent convention, and I found myself asking the same question every night: how on earth does Sheraton get off charging $250/night for a room with worn out brown carpet and run-down furniture that looks like it was installed in the 1970s? It's not that the hotel is terrible - it's just that... More

Thank you for the time taken to share your feedback. Your constructive criticism is valuable in our on-going review of the operation but I apologize that your experience was not more positive. The hotel's most recent guest room renovation was completed in 2008 (not in the '70's) and we are constantly upgrading and renewing. We agree that guest service is... More

So I flew into LA on Sunday night for a conference at the convention center starting on Monday. I'm an SPG member and I wanted to stay at an SPG property. The Westin towers were too far outside my company's policy, so I stayed at the Sheraton Downtown LA and I am glad I did! Libby at the front desk... More

The hotel was fine. The staff was fine. The parking was fine. What was not fine was the fact that guests cannot control the temperature in their guest rooms. My room was sweltering as there was nothing to be done about it... the best they can offer is "cool air." And it wasn't cool.... Don't stay here if you care... More

Sorry that we made you a little hot under the collar! We would have liked to try and correct the problem for you or relocate you into another room, given the opportunity. Occasionally, the mechanics of the system need attention, as with anything mechanical, but I can confirm that there is air conditioning in the hotel and apologize that yours... More

So let me tell you a horror story that was my one night stay at this hellish Sheraton Hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed here when we were in town to watch a Clippers/Celtics game. We check in and find that her dad and her sister have a room with one bed in it. Not going to work and not... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
