The rooms are large and the LCD TV very big. The location is in downtown, right in the Little Tokyo area. From the 19th floor we could see the 4th July fireworks around the city. The parking is pretty expensive (24$) you can park easily in the Little tokyo Mall next to it! The downside, staff very bad and rude! more

We paid $70 on Priceline. They must put Priceline customers in rooms that haven't been updated--our TV was not a flatscreen as previous reviewers had mentioned, nor was our bed too firm--quite the opposite! The bed was like sleeping on a block of Jello and so unsupportive that we had backaches the next morning. We had a small refrigerator, but... more

I had an amazing time at the Kyoto Grand Hotel! Due to the area's reputation (all lies!), I was expecting a rather ordinary hotel in, well, the ghetto - but experiencing the place for myself proved otherwise. It's a fantastic hotel with terrific service, comfortable and clean rooms, beautiful decor, very useful (and free) services such as a business center... more

Nice hotel, good food, reasonable* rates. Rooms are a bit smaller than expected, but quite comfortable. The "gardens" were slightly misleading, as all they seemed to have were a small garden in the restaurant on the 3rd floor-for some reason, from the pictures I expected a large-ish koi pond, something like at Disenyland hotel, but there was just a small... more

Booked a 3 star hotel off priceline bidding $65 a night and ended up staying here. The lobby and room looked nice. Then found out they charge an extra $24 a night for parking. Their restaurant charges $7 for a bagel with cream cheese. They wouldn't let me use any microwave in the building to heat up my own food.... more

The Hotel was a peaceful retreat for a weekend away. It was "sold-out" for both nites of our stay but it was surprisingly quiet in our rooms. There were many "Rave" teens among the guests which made for interesting people-watching. Maria - at the Front Desk was very helpful in providing service. Would suggest a speedy check-out system as the... more

The room was nice, but had a strange smell to it. The parking garage was over crowded and once you add in the daily parking fee, the price of the hotel isn't really a good deal. The fitness center's equipment was either broken or not functioning correctly because it's so old. more

An OK stay

The hotel is in LIttle Tokyo so there are lots of Japanese restaurants around, particularly on 2nd and 1st Streets. Found a wonderful ramen place on 1st; it seems there is always a line outside. Starbucks is in the hotel building (outside access) for those of us who need a cup in the morning. The hotel is a typical big... more

The Grand Kyoto is pretty good, but NOTHING about it is "grand," by any stretch of the imagination. My 6 day stay allowed me ample opportunity to assess this. I had a small, irregularly-shaped room in the corner of this triangle-shaped building. It overlooked an adjacent courtyard full of Japanese businesses, not affiliated with the hotel. Bed was reasonably comfortable,... more

I had read several reviews on line about this hotel and saw it was a great price for the location. I decided to book it, because my boys, ages 13, and 6 are big Dodgers fans, and we had planned on two Dodgers games this specific week. We had read the hotel was only 2.5 miles away from the stadium.... more
