The Roosevelt is amazing. I usually stay at The Standard downtown, but they were all booked up this trip. I had been itching to try the Hollywood Roosevelt for awhile now, and they did not disappoint. *Just so you have a bit of background on me, I am not a "hipster". I like hotels with style and personality. I don't... more

I had stayed here before in a cabana room - now was in a standard room. Cabana Rooms are around the pool and are much more sizeable (especially taking into account the prices here). Room was clean but on the small side. Some major changes though at the Tropicana Pool/Lounge. The very unfriendly new Manager (I think she started in... more

I recommended the Roosevelt to a friend who was in town and coming to LA for the first time. The main reason was the location, in that we could walk to everything, also because I wanted to hang around the pool all day, and go to Teddy's at night. The front desk staff were ridiculously rude and full of attitude... more

Always wanted to try this hotel during one of my concert trips down to Hollywood. Checked in before heading to the venue and found the air conditioner did not work. Went back to the front desk, explained I was in a hurry and asked if I could have another room. The clerk told me I could not be moved to... more

We read the mixed reviews about the hotel before booking our stay. Unfortunately, the negative reviews were correct. We stayed in a Deluxe room with two queen beds. The air conditioner was incredibly noisy. When we spoke to the front desk about the noise, they replied, “sir, we’re an older hotel”. They did not offer Maintenance and/or a different room.... more

We are quite well travelled and generally don't complain much as we understand different places offer different things and we have to try and fit in for the duration, but this hotel was very poor. We travelled here in November last year, this was the last leg of our 3-part honeymoon, what can I say .... it was a let... more

We have tried to give the Roosevelt three chances in the last year to prove that they can provide a professional and pleasant stay that corresponds with their location and history....and they have disappointed us for the last time. From the uninformed girl trying to check us in at the front desk to the lack of service at the pool... more

I loved this hotel, everything about it, it had such an authentic classy feel, the lobby is stunning and the staff very nice. The location is perfect just opposite the Chinese Theatre. The hotel is a tourist attraction in itself. The poolside bar is lovely, and at the weekend attracted the "It" crowd, but it was fun to see how... more

First complaint was our concierge didn't know how to help us to get an international line out to Australia, so that was quite irritating, however his replacement, a lovely woman, redeemed them all by recommending the loveliest restaurant, and then securing us a booking there that evening. The hotel was groovy, the room was clean and fresh with beautiful Kiehn's... more
