Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights toward the end of Jan. We loved it! The location is great as there is easy access to public transport, supermarkets and various restaurants/eating spots. The rooms are quite comfortable and a very good size. There is parking available if you have a car as well which is handy if you... More

LA isn't cheap, so for what you pay this is good quality. Despite the old-fashioned look this place is really quite nice inside, and very very clean. The shower is a bit fiddly but there's lots of clean, white bath towels, hand towels and face washers!

I stayed at the Dunes recently for 7 nights and I was very pleased with it. I didn't expect this motel to be as clean and convenient as it was. It didn't get more than two stars in my AAA book so I was leery about staying here. I took a chance because it was so close to my child's... More

Great stay during busy season. Very tidy rooms and clean. All staff were very friendly and helpful with all questions. Only a short walk to metro station. Cafe was great also with a great selection of food.

This was our first place we stayed on our holidays to the USA. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, when asked if they had a kettle I could use they brought one out free of charge. The hotel also has free off the street carpal King and free room WIFI. We had a double double room so there... More

This hotel is clean and is in a great location on Sunset. I would describe it as a 1960s two story motel that has been updated but retained it's original character. The bath has newer tile shower enclosure and flooring. Heat and cooling is provided by a portable unit installed above the open closet area. The beds were comfy, pillows... More

Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am pleased that you thought we were in a great location and that you found the room clean and comfortable, I am sorry, though that you found it necessary to complain about so many other things in connection with the room and, I agree, there is room for improvement in certain... Stayed here with my husband. We didn't have high expectations of the place but the place isn't bad! It's about a half hr walk to the walk of fame and only a 10 min walk to the nearest train station, getting to universal studio was super easy! 7/11 is pretty much next door so that was convenient also. The man... More

Visited the Dunes Inn between 12/12/15 to 17/12/15. It was very clean, well maintained and staffed. The location was perfect, we love walking so we walked from the room to the Hollywood boulevard, to the Hollywood sign and Griffith observatory and the Runyon canyon park. We had free wifi which was a must and good room service.

I stayed one night at the Dunes Inn and found it to be a very pleasant experience. The staff were fantastic at check-in and very helpful with some tips on what to do around LA. It is within walking distance of Hollywood Blvd and all the attractions that come with it, approx. 30-40 minute walk. The room was clean, tidy,... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
