My husband and I were in L.A. for a concert at the Shrine Auditorium and did not want to drive back to San Diego afterwards. I found The Inn at 657 with great reviews here and also on Yelp. We reserved a room in the 663 building. This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable room with great... More

Traveling alone as an older woman, I appreciated the genuine friendliness served up with great breakfasts, the privacy otherwise, the deep comforts of the room, and the easy access to a great walking neighborhood and excellent public transportation. The charm of a bygone home with today's connectivity and amenities. Easy walk to local food and Starbucks and close to many... More

Came down from the Bay Area to do some work at the Natural History Museum, with a bit of trepidation about staying at a BnB is the edge of the University Park area. But what a gem of a spot Patsy and family have. The place felt like a step back to the Victorian era, with lovely rooms, comfortable public... More

My family and I stayed recently for a few nights and wish it would have been longer. Immediately upon arrival Patsy made us feel very welcome and our rooms were clean, comfortable and decorated with care. Each morning breakfast was a treat as Wayne placed, upon our beautifully laid out table, a feast not only for the eyes but for... More

The Inn at 657 is run by very nice people and the cook is marvelous. We stayed several nights and found it to be relaxed. However, the whole place is fairly tired and the area is very tired. Our curtains didn't really work, internet didn't work, and things felt just generally "tired". The location is good for the old downtown... More

We spent one night there and were made extremely comfortable in the room. The location was convenient for dowtown dining and also the museums the next day (we saw the Space Shuttle and the Dead Sea Scrolls). The breakfast was amazing and plentiful. We are locals but we plan to visit again soon for a little getaway.

It was like staying in someone's comfortable home, really - lovely downstairs rooms available for guests, with bedrooms upstairs, a nice little outside patio, a communal fridge with goodies (the reviewer who actually complained about the free granola bars and 7-up needs to get a reality check and a life - honestly!!), and a really lovely breakfast at communal table.... The Inn at 657 was a perfect spot for our recent trip to LA. My husband and I booked a two-bedroom apartment while visiting our son, who had recently relocated to So. California. Our daughter, based in SF, was able to join us for a few days as well. The staff is delightful, the gardens are beautiful, and the breakfasts... More

I was searching for something that was going to be a relaxing environment for us prior to an audition at USC. The Inn at 657 was a perfect fit for us. It was like staying with family friends. My son is a music student so it was a delightful bonus to have an in tune piano for him to practice... More
