We stayed here as part of a road trip around the USA and Canada. The west coast was travelled with greyhound so we arrived early morning in LA's greyhound station. The taxi was only $30 to the hostel. This was cheaper than we were expecting. The services provided for free are great. Journeys to the hollywood sign, venice beach trips.... More

Stayed for 6 days and shared with 4 other people. Bit cramped and had to organise who had the bathroom and when but on the whole, everything was great. Free breakfast and wi-fi. Bit noisy at night but to be expected in a hostel of backpackers. Trips and airport shuttle organised from hostel and right on 'Walk of Fame' and... More

Had a wonderful experience in the Banana Bungalow Hostel! Had the most amazing and exciting day on the Hana road with the best tour guide: Kyle (If you like adventures: DO IT!) The hostel is in Wailiku: not the best part of the island if you don't have a car or rented one (anyway if you are travelling with friends... More

I like its location it's close to Hollywood Blvd where you can get easily to Chinese Theater, walk of fame, Dolby Theatre, etc. It's comfortable, good breakfast, friendly staff. Each night you have something different to do!

Nice clean hostel in an average area. Hollywood just isn't very pretty but you are able walk to loads of cool places from the hostel and they offer FREE shuttles to Venice and Universal Studios. There was something going on every night but only one really big party night while we were there (it was winter so not peak season).... More

This was my first ever stay in a hostel so I didn't know quite what to expect but would have thought there would be better service by the staff or at least they would be a little friendlier. Wasn't too bad. Rooms were pretty clean, amenities were reasonable. They sell tickets to universal studios and charge more than what they... More

Staff were super friendly and helpful! Good location if you want to stay in hollywood, close to hollywood boulevard and the hollywood sign hike but there isnt much else. We got upgraded to a private rooms from the dorms, the room was nice and clean and well kept. Bathroom was also pretty decent. They held a night where we went... More

I experienced very helpful staff when I booked for me and two of my friends to stay at this hostel. One of my friends was only staying with us for half the time we were going to be there, and we ended up changing the details a few times via email and they were fine with all the changes. The... Their website and YouTube clip explain the hostel pretty spot on. If you're on a budget as a couple or a backpacker, this place offers a variety of rooms (private with shower or 4-6 bed dorms). Stayed in a private room, queen (comfy) bed, shower, AC, fridge and microwave (not a kitchen). Room was clean, bed linen and towels were... More

This hostel is located on hollywood blvd, so within walking distance of shops, toursity things, the chinese theater and views of hollywood sign. There's a metro stop 5 mins away too. You can get the shuttle near here for $8, which is good as it's far away from the ariport. I arrived here on a tuesday night, late, to the... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
