We stayed in Banana Bungalow for a couple of nights as part of a road trip. We didn't really enjoy our stay. I should start out by saying that we already had plans both nights so didn't join in on the organised events... This meant we missed out on the sociable element of the hostel which I think is a... Our room was super dirty and gross, we had an infestation of ants, all over the cutlery and inside the drawers in the kitchen. The staff came to try and sort it out but there were still small ants crawling everywhere, so needless to say we didn't cook in the kitchen as they were fully booked and unable to move... More

First of all...when I went to LA I was expecting a lot of fun and party. I was not dissapointed! It was summer and everything was full or really expensive so after a really bad experience in another hostel I decided to stay at the Banana Bungalow for 3 days...I ended up staying for 5 days and wanted more nights... We booked here last minute due to another hostel overbooking us. We arrived to our room ready, and a list of social activities organised by the hostel to do. Our room was perfect, more than we anticipated: fridge, TV, own bathroom. There are game tables, couches in the courtyard and it's a very friendly place. The tiki room for food... More

Stayed in this hotel for a few nights. Initially booked it for about 12 days. My first night I was completed knackered after a 20.5 hour flight from Fiji to LA. Got to the hostel which looked abit isolated. My bedroom was facing the garden area where there was music, lots of travellers and the horrible smell of marijuana (I... More

We had a great time staying here for 5 nights in July. The hostel is really close to the main attractions at Hollywood Boulevard, it only takes a 5 min walk to the metro and then a 5 min underground ride. The hostel itself organises loads of events and are beyond helpful if you have questions about planning your own... More

Me and one of my friends stayed in a private room. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the whole hostel was just awesome. The location was good, as it was practically on the walk of fame! There was a metro and bus stations close by, which could take you all over LA! If you're over 21, they... More

The location is near the center of Hollywood. The room is clean and the staffs are nice and willing to help. The outside bar and eating area are just relaxing. The only thing that needs to be improved might be the wifi coverage, the room I lived hardly got the wifi signal(east south corner of the hostel). Other than that,... More

Really cool hostel, out door bar area was great. Nice and big, plenty of room. Great rates and private bathrooms in queen rooms, big comfy bed, felt more like a hotel than a hostel, was very impressed. Lock up your stuff in the dorms, my watch was stolen! Otherwise it was a great place to stay!
