This is a nice hotel. The staff is very friendly, it is located near some supermarkets and a gasstation (convenient if you travel by car). The Hotel Hollywood is also near Hollywood boulevard and Santa Monica boulevard. Metro stations are nearby (Hollywood Vine or High). I do not eat very much at breakfast so this breakfast (bagels, fruit, yogurt, coffee,... More

I'm an artist and I work while I travel. Naturally I don't carry my finished work with me but after my stay at the hotel Hollywood maybe I should. I'd placed a finished drawing on a table by the bed. Since I didn't use the table I thought the drawing would be safe there. How wrong I was. While I... More

Apart from the fact that the hotel has no elevator (but we knew that), it fulfilled our expectations. We have sent a message with our reservation that because we were going with heavy luggage, we wanted a downstairs room, but the staff didn't read our message and had located us in a room on the third floor. We told him... More

got to say I was abit taken back when I first entered my room...quite small, dated furnishings (except for the bed which was by far the best thing about the room, very comfy)...brochure had said flat screen T V's in all rooms, with microwave, neither of which were in our room...I didn't question it as we were only there for... Nice helpful man on the desk, room a bit tired, but every thing worked, basic ok breakfast but enough to get you started, its free, a bit of noise from the building next door one night, but with earplugs not a problem. good bed, clean room, great shower, has a safe, good cheap hotel, value for money, would use again.... This is an excellent choice if you are looking for a bed and breakfast hotel in a city as expensive as Hollywood. The location of this hotel is perfect because it is in the heart of hollywood and yet away from the hustle bustle of the street, hence no noise from the street at night. Also, it is safe which... We stayed at the Hotel Hollywood for 5 nights in May 2014. We had a room on ground floor. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience considering the location and value. Hotel is close to CVS, public transport and many local attractions (walk of fame, Chinese theater, Ripley's). We found it very easy to commute to Staples center and... More

Had a good experience here. The only thing I can say negatively is that we were arriving in L.A. at around 7am, by the time we had made our way to the hotel it was around 8am and the doors weren't open and there was nobody inside to let us in. We called them and we could hear the phone... More

First of all I can't agree with other tripadvisor reviews that the location is shady. It is simply not! It is really close to the walk of fame and hustle and bustle of Hollywood. I looked at a lot of reviews on line and believe me for the money you pay per night this is the place to be. This... More

The hotel is in a central location, just minutes from the walk of fame. I would really recommend this hotel for the location and for the very low price. There is a supermarket open 24/24 and the hotel has a private parking that you can use with a small fee.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
