Sunrise Room and Board was the perfect place to stay in Los Angeles. It had everything that I look for in a hotel; friendly staff whom attended to my needs and answered any questions I had. They helped me find the local attractions and tourist destinations that I wanted to experience on my holiday. The rooms and whole hotel were... More

I really enjoyed my staying. The location is optimal, the room is pretty big and the furniture looks good. When sometimes i didn't feel like going out, i relaxed watching TV on the 52" flat screen in my room! The hotel staff is very friendly, they offer cocktails at the Venice Whaler Beach Bar, so you can meet other people... More

They have comfortable rooms, aand pictures really shows the reality- beautiful, clean and modern. Service was also very good, they have professionals working there. I have nothing bad to say at all, I loved it, and I highly recomend it.

The location is just amazing, you'll fell surrounded by the water, the Venice beach from the west, Marine Del Rey from the south and you have the Balloona creek too, you'll be close to a LOT of fun places, i visited the Beyond Baroque art center, and got some good books for a good price. The staff is lovely, very... More

I had a wonderful stay at Sunrise - the location was perfect and the accomodations quaint and comfortable. I thought the staff was wonderful - so helpful and courteous! Mostly we very much enjoyed our stay, because the surrounding areas are so nice - you're close to so many fun things. Highly recommended!

This hotel was not my first experience to Los Angeles and I should confess that I loved it better than the others! Everything was perfect; the room, the whole atmosphere, the staff, and the location was gorgeous. The price was reasonable which is the best option for me to get back to this hotel the next time I’ll be in... More

This hotel was my first experience to LA and I loved it! The rooms, the staff, and the location was perfect. I was here on holiday, but everything is located very close to my LA office and I will recommend this location to all of my co-workers when they travel for work.

This place is in somewhat of a residential area, which is a little strange, but you're actually in close proximity to some good stuff. Mother's Beach and the bike path were a saviour from the tiny and grubby quarters. The price was pretty low, so it wasn't a total loss - but I wish I wasn't so exhausted during the... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
