So I stayed for only 1 night and the room was actually not bad at all. They have cameras everywhere so I felt pretty safe staying there. As I always forget stuffs, I did forget my iPad when I left. I called back right next morning and asked for it and they said the housekeeping found it. I was in... More

This should be a $29 a night hotel. One of the most unconfortable mattress ever slep in. Faucet had to run 5 mins before hot water appeared. Hotel has 62 rooms with about 26 parking spaces. Stand alone bathroom sink without any supporting counter space.

I gave an average rating. I like the walking distance to downtown LA restaurants and shops. The room has refrigerator, microwave oven, and free parking. I don't like: AC is very noisy, no bathroom sink countertop for your things, furniture are old, found a big insect, street noise, and poor breakfast selection.

I saw a 3 star rating on this hotel so thought I was safe. While the people who ran the hotel were very nice and tried to be helpful, the hotel was the worst I've ever stayed in. Mold on the bathroom ceiling and in the tile grout, no fan in the bathroom, terrible lighting by the sink, tile floors... More

The hotel was in the perfect location for our two nights because we wanted to be near downtown but not pay a lot. We've stayed at other ABVI's before and were content. The room was clean except for the floors - our feet were black within minutes of walking on them. Parking is free but the lot is tight. Hotel... More

We stayed at this place for three days and had an unpleasant experience with the desk clerk. On the day of our checkin, I arrived early at the hotel. I knew that the checkin time was 3pm. So, I asked if I could leave my luggage at the checkin desk and come back later at 3pm to check in to... More

First let me say that I've stayed at many hotels and motels over the years, yet the pictures had me fooled. I've stayed at Super 8 a Motel 6 rooms that were much cleaner and far more acceptable. I stayed in room 36, first level "end" room (the narrow room on my right was a housekeeping storage room). The room... More

The hotel room looked more like a small studio apartment. Door opened on standard bed with TV / dresser, then around the corner was a fridge, microwave, sink and small vanity, and the bathroom opened off from there. A little larger than the usual one room hotel in my experience. It's a basic, no-frills motel, but the price reflects that.... More

Do not expect a 5 star experiance. You get what you pay for here, a room, and thats it. No coffee maker, no continetial brakefast, shampoo but no conditioner. The room appeeared clean. Furniture is old and outdated. Again, this is not a place for a 5 star experiance. Staff was nice and helpful. Stayed a night for a concert... More

Photos online make the place look good but once you walk in the room its cramped, dirty and it smells like sewer. Floor were so dirty it was unbelievable. On the last night we saw a roach coming out from what looked like a closet. the breackfast was terrible. They had stale cereal bagels. I would never ever go back... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
