The staff are extremely friendly, the type of service you receive when people truly like what they are doing. The room was very modern and comfortable. I loved the open shower and the blue tooth speaker in the room

A couple of years ago I decided that I was too old for the Standard, but I'm glad I changed my mind. I got a pretty good rate for a three-day stay in June, and gave it another try. Somehow I got upgraded to a corner room that was huge; that helped take away some of the pain of the... More

So I had a chance of staying here in the past. The rooms are tiny but clean. The staff is nice and polite. The party's are awesome. The dj's are the best. Make sure you check out the roof top party and the pool party as well. The line to get into the party's if you are not staying here is crazy.

Memorial Day Weekend We arrived early and had breakfast before checking in. Our waitress clearly didn't want to be there and was not pleasant and unavailable for most of the meal. Food was very good but they were understaffed for sure. The front desk and reception staff was great as was the maintenance staff that we encountered during our stay.... More

Conveniently located in the heart of LA's financial district, The Standard offers simple rooms at very competitive prices. The decor within the rooms is hip, yet very IKEA-centric, offering the bare minimum of amenities. Our rooms were quite big, clean, comfortable, and offered good climate controls. Common areas are LA-cool, offering a terrific rooftop bar, outdoor seating off the lobby,... More

Came here for some drinks at the rooftop bar. I am afraid of heights and it was still pretty fun. Drinks are really good and it's an excellent atmosphere. A lot of him people too. Oh and the elevator up is a lot of fun too.

4th time staying at the Downtown LA Standard. Stayed for a weekend when I first arrived in LA at the start of May. Check-in was fast and friendly and luckily I was able to be checked in a little early (around midday) which I think can be a bit difficult on weekends but was greatly appreciated after the 14 hour... Downtown LA is not the most pleasant place to be, definitely not by foot. But if you have to be there this hotel is a great experience. Mad Men style in a former office building from 1956, they have left several details intact which gives this place a lot of charm. Staff is very friendly and rooms are fully up... More

This funky hotel is definitely a place to stay! Room is large. We were upgraded. Great bed and views. Easy to get around Downtown LA. Highly recommend it . The staff were all friendly and helpful when we arrived after the taxi driver from hell brought up from the airport!

This was perfect for us location wise - for early morning meetings downtown. The style is quite hip and cool. The staff were relaxed and very friendly and at the same time efficient. Good breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. The only issue was that it was extremely noisy!! There was a dance party in the rooftop bar until late. The... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
