We had booked into the hotel for 5 nights. If you are middle aged or older this place could be a nightmare: The mattress was on a low plinth that stuck out the side of the mattress by 3 feet at the side and 1 foot at the end of the bed. Thus, it is a) difficult to get up... More

Tried to bring clients for an upscale beverage on the roof. Ha. Wristbands and elevators in service areas. Everything is plastic. The beverage containers are plastic and the music is something Sinatra would turn over from listening. Avoid unless you are under 26. Then have fun paying 14 a drink. Thumbs down

The wife and I had friends come up for a drink, before we went to the roof for a bit of dancing. Nearly all the rooms are different, but still the same quality in customer service. Excellent for groups, upstairs lounge and club, bar and resturant downstairs. Good area...

Great first impression with the most friendly and helpful reception staff. Room was a good size and very light compared to most of the dark rooms we stayed in on our trip. Extra comfortable beds, loved that they were on a platform. The bathroom was a wonderful surprise, very spacious and the separate toilet a real gem. Overall one of... More

My boyfriend and I booked a room to celebrate his birthday. We loved the decor and the service was wonderful. I will definitively recommend the Standard. This is a very modern and urban kind of feel. It's not for everybody.

On our visit to Los Angeles last week we found the hotel staff especially Jessica James and Evan the duty manager to be really sincere in the hospitality offered making our stay memorable. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting LA being close to most attractions and business as it is in the Financial quarter. We will be back.

we stayed 2 times in this hotel, if you need to stay in downtown, you can choose this hotel. But I must say, the price and the quality dont match. the rooms are too weird, so primitive. no wardrobe, just some shelves. the bed is really good, so comfortable. We liked the nightclub at the rooftop.

I stay at this hotel two times a year for business. I like the fact that the bed is extremely comfortable and I always sleep well that's the best thing about this place. Service is very good and the staff at the front desk are great. For a place that describes itself as the "standard culture" their Internet service is... More

We stayed in The Standard Downtown LA for one night whilst en route to San Francisco. When deciding on where to stay, it was the photos of the impressive roof bar that made us choose The Standard. The hotel itself is impressive, with a funky lobby area and a fire pit at the door. There's parking underneath the hotel which... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
