While sitting in the hotel lobby area listening to classical music, I went back to my room and frighteningly discovered that some unknown person with nothing better todo had somehow gained entry into my NON-SMOKING room and decided it would do good to smoke a cigarette inside of my room. The smell was very strong and could not have originated... More

This hotel is in a fun area of downtown and is located near the Staples Center and LA Convention Center. The hotel is very old and full of charm. The rooms are a nice size and have some amenities. The TVs are a bit old; however, I was told that the rooms are in the process of being upgraded. The... More

This hotel has definitely seen better days but is still good value for money. Accommodation in downtown LA is not cheap and even if this hotel is old, rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is alright too. There is a selection of fruit, bagels, waffles and cereals as well as coffee, milk and juice. Unfortunately the wifi was pretty... More

When I turned up at the hotel I at least expected a bed, but instead I got a small blanket and a bucket of muddy water. The food was from a dumpster I swear and the people were just there to steal stuff. Nearly all my stuff went missing-terrible;-;

By reading many reviews of this property some people seem to love or detest this place. I find myself right in the middle. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating and I had no problems with bugs, trash, or homeless in the lobby. It is an 12 floor hotel. I stayed on the 8th floor with a view of... More

When something looks old and dingy, you can clean the heck out of it and it's still going to look old and dingy. That is this place. It is a good place to lay your head for a night or two as long as you get up and get out.

Staff were friendly and hotel lobby very nice. Location is great, close to public transport. However, rooms need a desperate upgrade and clean, edges around room thickly coated with dust, blood on the wall and cockroaches in the bathroom along with lots of baby cockroaches! Got moved to room where aircon didn't work properly and so these factors were a... More

This hotel is not for the ones that expect too much. This is an older hotel that has been renovated but, still kept some of the historical touches. We arrived at the Ritz Milner and noticed the exterior and lobby right away. Check in was very quick and the front desk staff was quick and friendly. It was a little... More

1st. in most places I have stayed you tip, and tip enough, or you may not get any service. with that said, the tip here was the going rate. the rooms were nice, clean and the maid service was good. you do pay for the name here. I have been in even better places around here, but this one is... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
