I was a little hesitant to book this hotel for my fiance and myself after reading so many negative reviews, however we ended up pleasantly surprised! The person behind the desk when we checked in wasn't super friendly, but he wasn't rude. He had a lot of information to offer about things to do, and he was efficient. He allowed... More

The hotel itself is very nice, but the sevice is very, very bad.. We arrived at around 10 pm an the guy at the desk let me (pregnant) stand in the cold for 30 min to do the paperwork, "because it is to dangerous to let people up to the front desk at night".. I am a small, pregnant 26... More

Hi, Charlotte. I'm so, so sorry about your check-in experience. Standing in the cold is no fun! I'll be sure to look into your reservation and address whoever was working then, and I'll also address our cleaning staff about proper practice. I'm glad you enjoyed the location, and I hope your car is okay. I can assure you, once I... More

This hotel is in a good location for the Hollywood walk of fame. The side streets nearby are a little dodgy with some homeless people around who are quite vocal but if you stick to the main streets then you are in a great area for getting to the Hollywood walk of fame. The rooms are very clean and look... More

I wasn't expecting much because of the price, location, and the fact it wasn't a chain hotel, however I was pleasantly surprised. The Manager was very friendly upon check-in and told us we could help ourselves to coffee or tea at anytime as long as the office doors were open. The room itself was very clean and looked great. Now known as the Legend Hotel Hollywood. Perfect location! It was easy to find, very close to Hollywood Blvd and the Walk of Fame (we walked there in about 5- 10min), as well as to the freeways, which made it very convenient. The Hotel was very nice and clean. It is nothing fancy but very good for the price. It... More

Now the Legend Hotel Hollywood. This was maybe the worst place I've ever stayed. On their own I could deal with the issues we encountered. But together with the complete unwillingness and incompetence of the employee and manager it was abysmal. * grasshoppers in the room * fixtures in the bathroom falling off the wall * a/c was busted and... As I mentioned on Yelp, Andrew, the occurrences you described definitely don't sound like a stay up to our usual standards. We like to keep things as clean and comfortable for our guests, and I'm sorry to see that we didn't come through on that for you. With that said, I hope you'll get back to me on Yelp and... More

This is no longer the "Best Inn Hollywood", it's had a fresh coat of paint and is now called "Legend Hotel Hollywood". It's a pretty good location on Cahuenga just a block north of Hollywood Blvd and within sight of the famous Capitol Records tower. Small parking lot, anything bigger than a full size sedan will have a hard time... More

Stayed with a group of friends in Sept 2014. Had two rooms next to each other between our group. Rooms were reasonably spacious, VERY convenient to a lot of nearby attractions. 24 hour Subway across the street. Parking very limited. Great for a low budget trip. Nothing fancy but easier on your wallet if you're trying to see Hollywood.

This is a basic motel, but very clean with a comfortable bed, parking and quiet at night. It has a fantastic location for the price - just 1 block from Hollywood Blvd and all the associated attractions. We were really pleased with our stay. And they serve coffee and delicious doughnuts for breakfast! Our only complaint was that the shower... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
