Pros: one of the cheapest hotels you can get in a pretty good location (across the street from Paramount) -comfy bed -parking included Cons: stayed 5 nights, hot water was unreliable. Showered in cold water twice, also got scalded. (Old hotel=old plumbing) -a basic 2 star hotel -stuffy, smoky smell, especially if humid/hot in room- keep the AC on! -tried... More

A reasonably priced hotel, and well situated. We found the staff to be very friendly and informative (especially Michael! Cool guy). Its not the most modern or trendy place in the area, but it has all you'll need. On a side note: I was on leave from a tour with the army in Lebanon. I met my girlfriend who had... More

As others have mentioned, the bathroom and bathroom sink are TINY (the closet is actually two to three times as big as the bathroom space outside of the tub!) The bed wasn't very comfortable, but our biggest complaint was the room temperature. The tiny window air conditioning unit never got our room comfortably cool, and there was no ceiling fan... More

Really had no complaints about this place. Location was pretty convenient and parking was free in back. Our room had a perfect view of the Hollywood sign. Bathroom was a little small and needs some updating but overall I would probably stay again.

This took the cake, we stayed one night of a three night reservation and my back still hurts from that bed. I was trying to make the best of it since we are saving for our wedding and trying to budget, but when I got out of the shower in the morning I saw a huge bug crawling over the... More

The room itself was ok, but the bathroom was a joke. The sink was like a tiny thimble hanging on the wall and was very difficult to use even just to wash your hands. The bathroom is very small and you can't turn around without banging into something. The closet was very big which to me was a waste. They... More

By far, the rudest service EVER. Betty (front desk) was, by far, the rudest, most unhelpful person I've very run into! I travel constantly. Her behavior wasn't even remotely acceptable. The hotel itself is in a fairly rough neighborhood and very run-down. There is ONE elevator in hotel, and it is painfully slow. Bathrooms are so small, you can barely... More

I found the hotel a bit depressing, although the owners have clearly made some efforts to renovate the rooms. Our bed seemed new and the bathtub looked to have been done over recently. The only historic features are the fun old-time photos of movie stars hung everywhere, the historic-looking building exterior, and the retro lobby. Otherwise there were no beautiful... More

It somewhat pains me to write this review, as the staff was incredibly friendly and the hotel itself definitely had it's charm. My girlfriend and I had been traveling for over a week in SoCAL and had stayed in 4 star resorts and spas, so it was time to tighten up the budget for the last part of the sojourn.... More

I have to say that Hollywood Historic Hotel was a bit of a let-down. I know it wasn't supposed to be luxurious, but decent is what I was expecting. Location: close to Universal Studios and other attractions but the area itself looks like a ghetto. View: yes, the Hollywood sign can be seen from the windows, but what they forget... More
