I found the hotel a bit depressing, although the owners have clearly made some efforts to renovate the rooms. Our bed seemed new and the bathtub looked to have been done over recently. The only historic features are the fun old-time photos of movie stars hung everywhere, the historic-looking building exterior, and the retro lobby. Otherwise there were no beautiful... More

It somewhat pains me to write this review, as the staff was incredibly friendly and the hotel itself definitely had it's charm. My girlfriend and I had been traveling for over a week in SoCAL and had stayed in 4 star resorts and spas, so it was time to tighten up the budget for the last part of the sojourn.... More

I have to say that Hollywood Historic Hotel was a bit of a let-down. I know it wasn't supposed to be luxurious, but decent is what I was expecting. Location: close to Universal Studios and other attractions but the area itself looks like a ghetto. View: yes, the Hollywood sign can be seen from the windows, but what they forget... More

Turned up no found it very easily. It has free parking. It's very old school hollywood inside and the rooms were fit for purpose. We could see the Hollywood sign in the distance from our window. You need a car to get about as there's nothing around other than a petrol station and a couple of little shops. It suited... More

We made a last minute booking to stay in Hollywood, rather than relying of cabs for a night out. I read somewhere that this used to be an old apartment building, and was converted into a hotel. It definitely had an apartment building look and feel about. This is an old building, so a little bit worn around the edges.... More

Nice view on Hollywood sign. Sights not in walking distance. But free parking available. Very good cafe next door! Highgly recommended for breakfast. Wifi did not work on 2 out of 3 days. You should not rely on wifi provided.

This hotel is very central and about 500 metres from Paramount Studios, which was on our list of must see places. The hotel is clean though a little worn at the edges but has a few really good point; the view has the Hollywood sign in clear view, at night you can see the Griffith Observatory lit up, a large... I was breezing through LA on a larger road trip and decided to stay here for its proximity to Santa Monica Pier and Hollywood. The hotel itself is clean, quiet, and a good value for the quality room and service. The location is not entirely convenient for public transportation but it is VERY close to Paramount if you want to... More

I liked this place a lot. It's between Koreatown and Hollywood and not convenient to public transport, but if you have a car, it's nicely located with free parking (a rarity in LA). The restored lobby had a nice 20's feel to it, the room was small and simply furnished, but clean and adequate. (Remember that when the place was... More

Booked this thru Orbitz for a fantastic price. The hotel itself is an old apartment building that was made into a hotel. It definitely has that 1920s feel to it (yes old lol). The best part about this hotel was the elevator (I am not being sarcastic) its an old straight out of twilight elevator I have NEVER seen anything... More
