We stayed here for 3 nights. It was affordable and a nice place to stay overall. It was better than a hotel room. We shared a cottage with my parents and it was spacious and comfortable. We all really enjoyed our time here.

This is an old, quaint and charming motel. Those are usually code words for run-down and shabby. But not here. It is quaint and charming in the true sense of those words. Looks like it was built in the '20s or '30s and has been kept up (not renovated) very nicely. Carpets could use a good cleaning but everything else... More

If you are a picky traveler and want everything to be perfect, this is not the place for you. However, if you are flexible and are concerned about cost, this is a good value, especially for where it is. Close to Santa Monica, in a very old structure, this motel is perfect for an inexpensive in an otherwise very expensive... More

Bringing a car to LA, it was important that we find a place with parking. After looking at reviews here on TA, I was convinced that the Wilshire Motel was a good alternative. I was not disappointed! The rooms are basic, but clean, and have everything you need for a short stay. Breakfast is simple, but does the trick. I... More

I live in the west LA area, work in the O.R. in a hoapital in Santa Monica, and my girlfriend lives in Brentwood. When I am on call at work, I need to stay close to the hospital but can't stay with my girlfriend because if I get called in to work, the commotion inevitably wakes my gf and she... More

I stayed at The Wilshire Motel for two weeks from June 2 to June 16 after finding out about it from great reviews online. This place is very comfortable and each room looks different and makes you feel very much at home. The Manager, Mrs. Julia Kovacs, is very caring and friendly. She woke me up at 7 AM when... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the Wilshire Motel. I was there for four nights in late May. The price and location were excellent for my intentions of visiting certain typical tourist sites in L.A. (Getty museums, Santa Monica, Hollywood, La Brea tar pits, Farmers Market, Griffith Observatory, Universal Studios). There are only 17 rooms available, I stayed in a... More

I'm a local and be assured there is nothing close to this value in the Santa Monica/Brentwood area. You will pay well over $160 for anything comparable. The manager is very nice and accommodating. The morning croissants, bagels and other good stuff were a nice surprise. I was here for 6 days while my home was being renovated, and I... More

I had stayed at the Wilshire several years ago and found it quaint and quite reasonably priced. This trip I was by myself and stayed in Unit 31 which is right behind the office. It is far enough from the street to be pretty quiet. My room had been recently updated with new paint, furniture, tile in the bathroom and... More
