Despite the multiple emails warning me that this was an exciting adult place to be, there was absolutely no mention that the lobby was actually closed for renovations. I got back to my room at night to a sign on every door mentioning that unregistered guests were not welcome after ten...um...I've never seen anything like that on any door? Also... More

My first impression at the W Hollywood was not great. After a 15 hour flight to encounter a homeless person bathing in the foyer restroom was not great, more concerning is that hotel staff lowers oblivious to the fact this was happening. Hotel security only cover the back entrance to the hotel at night and not during the day. All... More

I don't give decidedly poor reviews lightly but I've stayed here a number of times and have had consistently bad experiences. The front desk staff acts like they are doing you a favor when they check you in, and service at the wildly overpriced bar is terrible. For a relatively new hotel, the rooms are not aging well at all.... More

Make sure you know ahead of time what atmosphere you want on your trip. The hotel is very upfront about this not being an ideal place for families or quiet relaxation. It is definitely more of a party vibe, with a great location for the touristy Hollywood experience. My friend decided on Hollywood for a girl's overnighter, so I researched... More

The W looks like a nice shiny place to stay, the lobby is quite impressive. You soon work out though that the location is not good and the shininess is really all smoke and mirrors. It's a good 20 minute walk across many lights and after being accosted by numerous homeless druggies and alcoholics to reach anywhere decent, we soon... More

This is the worst check in ever !!! On my arrival with my family for an exciting Universal Studio VIP tour ..... Also I am a SPG member .... I have to wait for more than 1hour 30min !!! Isn't this ridiculous!!! With 3 Front Desk counter and only one staff dealing with check in , check out , guest... More

We booked this hotel for our family for our first and only night in Hollywood. Although the staff were very accommodating of our family I would suggest that this Hotel is best for singles and couples. We were greeted by Chris upon check in and we was extremely friendly and very helpful, especially after travelling for so long. The Hotel... More

My friend researched and booked this hotel, so I really didn't have any preconceived ideas. Within about an hour of arriving, though, I realized that this is definitely a party hotel. Lots of friendly fellow travelers, and I always met someone interesting on the elevator (for example, the guy who told me "I think I love you" after our 20-second... More

Spent 2 nights in the hotel in February with a girlfriend. Friday and Saturday night stay. Check-in was fast and easy. The check-in area isn't impressive except for the beautiful flower arrangements in the entry hall. The room was fairly large with a view on the hotel's luxury apartments. Straight view into other people's living room and vice versa. Not... More

It's a chic glamorous hotel, well designed, beautiful rooftop pool with really spectactular view, good location - underground station and the Hollywood Walk of Fame located just outside, but the staff is rather cold, not unfriendly, but really distracted, the breakfast and lunch were more than mediocre, the service in Delphine really dissapointing (with 15% tip added automatically to the... Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
