Despite some of the pervious bad reviews we booked this hostel anyway as it was the best place to see the Oscars. We had no problem with this hostel at all, friendly staff who helped us with our bags on arrival. We have a nice clean room and the shower room was clean and always had hot water. The staff... More

This hostel is just what I needed. I was looking for a place right in the heart of Hollywood with affordable prices, and I know the past reviews may shy you away from this place, but I gotta tell you, they upped their game or something, because I had nothing but a great time. One of the workers, Chris, was... More

Staying at the Hollywood Youth Hostel is the most incredible experience in Los Angeles!! Located just steps away from the Graumann's Chinese Theater and Dolby Theater, home of the Oscars, I was able to watch Brad Pitt AND Angelina Jolie walk the red carpet from only 20 feet away, along with all of my favorite stars celebrities as they made... Right on hollywood blvd. This hostel is at the center of the famous walk of fame. Directly across the road from the metro and bus stop so getting around the la area is no problem at all. The hostel itself is A friendly and homey environment. All types of people from all over the world and they are all very... More

The place has a great location and the staff was friendly aswell as the other guests. But it's a really simple hostel. You almost get what you pay for. There is other hostel nearby... But this one is the cheapest. If you need a cheap place this is OK. If you can spend more money - go somewhere else :-P

We stayed in a 6 person female dorm. It took us 2 hours to check in while the manager Peter chatted to his colleagues about random stuff instead of checking everyone in. There are signs EVERYWHERE from telling u when to shower (literally a sign saying you must shower daily), when to do washing, saying there's no hot water between... More

The hostel is in an excellent location and has easy access to everything that LA has to offer. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, the Internet connection was good most of the time. However at night the noise from the street could get a little loud however this didn't bother me. Overall a great experience that I'd recommend... More

The location is simply awesome ..can't get any better. The staff was friendly & helpful. Its definitely worth the money. My room was basic but had great views of the Hollywood Boulevard. There's non-stop action going down on the street ..which bothered some at night, but didn't mind me at all. The cons are that there's no air conditioning &... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
