Its location is great, but there are other options nearby Hollywood Blvd. I stayed here for one night, the entrance isn't comfortable because the hostel is on the second and third floor, there's no lift to bring upstairs your bags. The dorms are big enough for 4 persons, but the restrooms aren't inside, there's only one big restroom per floor.... More

Awesome location and at a good price. Fairly clean with big bright bathrooms and seem to be making a few cosmetic upgrades. Free pool table and this is where it stops.... Pokey little kitchen with s small common area for its size. MOST staff need to learn to engage and learn to respond to a greeting. No vibe, no activities,... More

Don't be put off by the negative reviews! I stayed here for 2 nights and the hostel is much better than previously reviewed. The beds were very comfortable, large dorm rooms, the hostel was clean and free pancake breakfast available each morning. Due to the proximity to Hollywood Boulevard the rooms were noisy on weekends as the doors don't lock... More

When I first arrived at Samesun I couldn't believe where it was situated. Probably the best location any hotel or hostel could have in Hollywood. Staff were really friendly as well and told me about the local star tours and how to get to the awesome Amoeba records. Common area was a sweet place to meet people and I formed... More

This was my first trip to LA and what a trip it was. When I first checked in to this hostel, I was pleasantly surprised on how big and spacious the rooms were. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the reasons I chose this hostel was to be close to Amoeba, the world famous record store,... More

Despite some of the pervious bad reviews we booked this hostel anyway as it was the best place to see the Oscars. We had no problem with this hostel at all, friendly staff who helped us with our bags on arrival. We have a nice clean room and the shower room was clean and always had hot water. The staff... More

This hostel is just what I needed. I was looking for a place right in the heart of Hollywood with affordable prices, and I know the past reviews may shy you away from this place, but I gotta tell you, they upped their game or something, because I had nothing but a great time. One of the workers, Chris, was... More

Staying at the Hollywood Youth Hostel is the most incredible experience in Los Angeles!! Located just steps away from the Graumann's Chinese Theater and Dolby Theater, home of the Oscars, I was able to watch Brad Pitt AND Angelina Jolie walk the red carpet from only 20 feet away, along with all of my favorite stars celebrities as they made... The hostel itself is A friendly and homey environment. All types of people from all over the world and they are all very... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
