For a one-night stay when you don't plan to spend too much time in the room, the Saharan provides adequate lodgings. Despite its location along one of the dingiest stretches of Sunset Blvd., the hotel is safe and well-patrolled by night. Reception service can be brusque or friendly depending on who's manning the desk, but the rooms are surprisingly spacious,... More

1. The pictures looks NOTHING like what we encountered. 2. The room was full of dust, hairs and pieces of the ceiling. 3. I know it's cheap, but the Ramada in WeHo costs about $40 more and its 143432409 better. As soon as we enter our room, the decision was easy: we left! The reason we're leaving 2 starts instead... This is the second time I have been to LA and this hotel was a good choice. It was clean and comfortable. We had a hire car so getting around wasn't an issue and we got a park every night even when we came back late but there doesn't seem to be enough parking if hotel was full. We didn't... More

The rooms were not too bad - they were clean but too small. We had to keep reminding of extra towels as the ones we got were not enough. Very bad isolation as you could hear every sound and whisper from outside. Parking path was too narrow and too small for an SUV. The hotel does not look anything like... More

I chose the Saharan Motor Hotel because they said they have garage space for the guests. However, what they do NOT say is that you have to be lucky to get there before the other guests, because there is not enough space for everyone. Besides, I asked to be charged on one of my credit cards and they charged the... More

The hotel room was small and dark but mostly clean. Location is very convenient. The biggest problem was high water pressure in the shower, it hurts to get a shower. Also, the cleaning staff could be doing a better job with emptying the trash cans and replacing the toilet paper. And don't expect too much from a breakfast.

Excellent value for money. Clean, not glamorous but very comfortable. Bathroom needs a facelift but was very clean. Beds are comfortable and neat. So inexpensive and we got a simple breakfast included, cool. When you arrive open the front door for half an hour to let the chemical cleaning smell dissipate.

I'll start with the nice things about the hotel. Great location for Hollywood. You can walk to the Walk of Fame and all that offers and many restaurants. There is a large grocery store across the street. Free covered parking although it can be a little tight. The room itself was clean with modern furniture and free wifi. The front... More

There's not much to add to the tone of the average review already made before. The rooms are pretty old and getting close to needing a facelift. But they are clean and everything worked. The bed was very comfortable and although it's right on a very busy street I couldn't hear the traffic.Mind you the AC was on the whole... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
