The room was huge, particularly by European/Eastern US standards, however was a little old and dark - the decor probably hasn't been updated for several decades. It doesn't feel quite like a regular hotel, the room service was not available on Sunday, nor was the bar open when we arrived at 8pm. The facilities are very good, with full gym,... More

Everything about the hotel is great. The only down side is location. While it is in Downtown, this bit of downtown is still up and coming. I ended up driving to the west side of Los Angeles for most sites to see.

I stayed at the LAAC for work in early July and was extremely disappointed. To start with, the person at check in kept making jokes about how they charge for parking even if you don't have a car, you can't wear workout gear in common areas, can't use your phone in common areas, etc. He said all of these things... We stayed for our second anniversary and it was a wonderful time. We had the racquet ball suit and it was big and spacious with Windows all around. The bathroom was completely white tile but the rest of the room made up for it. We danced on the rooftop terrace and it couldn't have been a more lovely weekend.

Had a blast at the hotel. Had breakfast a breakfast buffet which was a nice addition to the very spacious hotel room. Was very nice to have during a convention, has very good nearby restaurants, and many convenience stores nearby to pickup anything that is needed. Hotel was overall an amazing experience with great staff to support it.

I attended my nephew's wedding here. Both my sister (mother of the groom) and I had the same small, dark rooms with a small bathroom that had absolutely no counter space at all - just a sink. My husband and I barely had room to move around to get dressed and the dark wallpaper and dark bedding made it worse.... More

I had just a quick one night stay here for business. Rooms are very comfortable and it was quiet on a Sunday night. Of course athletic facilities are top rate. Restaurant was closed but plenty a short walk around the area.

We stayed here for a couple nights as it was our first time in L.A and we wanted to get a feel for the city so we broke it up with a few nights in Beverly Hills and a few nights in Downtown. Unless you are interested in exploring the area of downtown L.A, I wouldn't recommend you staying here.... More

We stayed here for one night, we went to the "Last Remaining Seats" program and saw a movie at an old theater nearby. Our friends stay here all the time for business and highly recommended the hotel. I found it kind of dark and depressing. The rooms are decorated in a very masculine, very dark décor which is not my... More

It's a bit difficult to find and parking is off of Olive. The hotel is a classic, there are pictures of athletes all over the hotel, they even encourage you to go viewing down the halls. I passed on wandering the halls as it's just a bit much. I

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
