The location was second to none. Loved sleeping with the window open to hear and smell the ocean air. The hotel is OLD. It looks old, the carpet is old (and stained), IT SMELLS OLD, not all the outlets work. and the parking was a nightmare. There was a $25 fee for parking where I had to literally let my... More

Cheap little hotel in the most central location possible! The hotel is literally right on the beach front! Easy walk to Santa Monica pier and shopping district! Staff were super helpful and friendly! Rooms were basic but very clean and had everything you needed! Recommend if your looking for a cheap place for a night or 2!

The hotel is old and the patrons are mostly young but the rooms are nicely kitted out and the facilities are very acceptable and the staff super friendly. Located right on the Venice boardwalk next to the beach. The boardwalk at Venice is a human zoo where most sights are outrageous but for Venice, nothing is unusual. Plenty of action,... More

When travelling trough LAX I always stay at this hotel. YES, the rooms are old and basic - no air conditioning, broken light switches, old and stained carpet, etc. BUT the place has character and the location right on the strip is unbeatable for the room rates. There are small desks for laptops, but not really for serious business work.... More

This hotel is good value for money in the heart of the Venice Boardwalk. There are many homeless people around the Venice vicinity but never felt unsafe. The hotel room was adequate for the charge, carpet is in the process of being replaced which it definitely needs. But on whole a good value for money stay. No free wifi tho.

Just checked in to the Cadillac Hotel today and don't let your first impressions be your last. I thought what the hell has my husband booked us into but the first impression I had changed completely when I got to my room. Granted this isn't 5 Star but it's in a fantastic location right on the beach, it's clean, and... More

Hot rooms. Filthy stained carpets. Woke up with bed bug bites. Housekeeping that shout immediately outside your door early in the morning. The loudest room doors you have ever heard. I was kept awake two nights running because of people on my floor going in and out there rooms. This wouldn't have been an issue of the doors didn't make... More

Got to Cadillac Hotel a couple hours early from our check in time, they tried to get us in early but couldnt, which was okay since we were right on the beach with tons of entertainment. Parking was 20$ a day in a tiny parking lot. Got checked in and had to pay another $5 for wifi, which was a... More

you can read all the reviews and the most important thing is that this is a $200 per night hotel on the beach. There's an $800 per night one a half mile away also on the beach - you get what you pay for. I found the room spartan, but clean enough for the amount of time i spent in... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
