Our room was very clean with updated décor and comfortable beds. The hotel was quiet, which can be a problem with the older hotels. The staff was very nice. The location is unbeatable, especially for the price, it's right on the beach. My favorite part was having coffee, first thing in the morning, on the rooftop balcony overlooking the ocean.

We were upgraded on arrival to a room with amazing beach views. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel has friendly, helpful staff and is in a great location right by Venice beach with a short stroll to the Santa Monica pier, shops and places to eat. We would definitely stay here again!

Right on Venice Beach! Hotel has a really cool contemporary vibe in the lobby, and there is rooftop access which makes sunsets a must. If you need parking they have a lot in the back, and its steps away from the ocean. Shops, food, and bars are all walkable and during the day local artists occupy the sidewalks. Awesomely unique... We stayed at the Cadillac Hotel in October 2014. I knew it was an older hotel and honestly we stayed there just for the location, right on Venice Beach. It is a very run down hotel that needs a lot of TLC. The lobby area is very simple and there is a large area off to the side which seemed... More

My husband and I stayed at the cadillac for the two days following Christmas. We booked our stay before we read any reviews. After reading many negative reviews we could not wait to post our own positive review. The hotel is perfectly located in Venice beach at the perfect location of North Boardwalk. It is close to great eats, fantastic... More

The entire stay was made by Elizabeth at the front desk. Her cool californian accent and friendly smile made the jetlag seem okay! She was happy to offer her advice on restaurants and attractions, and was happy every time we saw her after that. Some of the other staff were nice enough, but were a bit too keen to push... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this modest hotel on the Venice Beach boardwalk. It doesn't look like much from the outside (think oldish, Art Deco-inspired beach hotel) but the newly renovated rooms we occupied were spotless and comfortable. We had originally reserved the family apartment on the second floor. It was fine (no view) but the little room we... More

I thought I was reserving a 700 square foot suite; that’s what their website advertises. But when I showed up, I got about 400 sq. ft. My wife and I stayed in the Cadillac Hotel for four nights while visiting our grown son who lives a few short blocks away. We normally stay at the nearby Venice Suites, but they... More

A very small room (which turned out to be an advantage) in a rather run-down Hotel in an equivalently rund-down area, much overprized. The floor-carpet was dirty and full of stains. Thanks to the small-ness of the room it was possible to Bridge the gap between bed and bathroom with one of the small towels. The Service rather unfriendly. Noisy... More

I would like to recognize the staff and more particularly the Manager Jeff for his professionalism and his flexibility. For the price, it's a very good deal. The hotel is by the ocean. I can't wait to get back to Venice and I will get back to the Cadillac Hotel without any doubt. Thanks !

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
