I spent three nights while exploring LA. This hostel is clean, social, well equipped, and perfectly located. I strongly recommend it. The atmosphere is cool and lots of bars and restaurants in Venice Beach. Lockers could be bigger, and breakfast a bit more healthy (for the price) - that is why I went for 4 vs 5

Had a few nights here in Februar. Positive: Good Location Clean Cheap Good wifi. Good Service Negative: Not much to add here. Keep on the good work, the young guys in the reception were really helpful. Thanks for that, we had a great time there!

This hostel is a great time! With an awesome location and you're right on the beach. I could see the ocean from my window! I didn't hangout that much in the hostel itself, why would you?! But Danny's right below the hostel is a fun bar, with live music, and a true dogtown feel to it! Very safe and secure... More

Such a fantastic location for Venice Beach. The hostel organised a bike ride to the South Beaches and you end up riding for a good couple of hours. I would definitely recommend it! The rooms are basic but adequate. You don't really spend much time in your room anyway there's so much to do!

Stayed at this cool Hostel last month for 3 nights before meeting up with friends in Las Vegas, 1st of all the location is right on Venice beach - the view from my room was pretty spectacular overlooking the legendary Venice beach. The actual room I stayed in was adequate, not amazing but then this is a hostel! The location... More

We recently stayed at the SameSun in Venice beach for 5 nights in a private room with an en suite. It's very reasonably priced for its good location in an interesting part of LA - if you love art, music, surfing bums and down and outs. The price reflects exactly what you get, the bedding wasn't great, sort of flung... More

Loved this place. I was so thankful for the surprising upgrade I got on arrival - my room looked right out over the beach and I could watch the sun go down from my bed. Awesome! The staff were all so so nice and welcoming and the pancake breakfast went down well. I'd definitely recommend this place, just wish I... More

Great location is the only positive thing about this place. You need to have more than 2 showers / toilets per floor. This is crucial for the morning rush. Also, my key to the room never worked - always had to knock and hope someone would open it for me. Another suggestion is organising more activities for everyone to do... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
