We were in need of a hostel around LA and found this awesome place right next to the beach, it's a perfect location. And the staff is so funny and helpfull (and CUTE!) especially Nick and Kevin, totally worth a visit if you're looking for a fun place to stay!

We stayed here for two nights in December paying cash for each nights stay. Not till we had left did they decide to charge our credit card for the accomodation. Ive sent countless emails and phoned many times only to be brushed off by terrible customer service. This is the first bad review I've ever given, so if you don't... More

Great easy going and helpful staff. Clean room with own sink, tv and fridge. Really enjoyed my stay. Close to local Venice bars, beach and just a really lively part of LA. Bit cold during the evening, but nice during the daytime. $15-20 uber to LAX and similar to Hollywood and Sunset. Top place!!

Very good location. Not enough bathrooms, breakfast not special and matrasses are too hard. The staff though special the curly girl who likes to do high five is awesome. Parking for free a bit further away is perfect.

I have stayed at Samesun before, the scheduled events were better then. We took a trip to Hollywood Improv and saw David Spade and Hannibal Buress... it seems like all the events now are party/club related. At night the area is super sketchy, but this is an affordable place to sleep right next to the iconic Venice Beach area.

Its an awesome hostel with a lot of activities. I've met lots of nice people there and my stay was superb. The location is the best! Just a couple of steps away from the most energetic boulevard I ever walked on.

The girl at the reception in the morning was soooo helpful and friendly with me. Confortable beds in the dorms and nice bathroom. Breakfast can be better but not bad. Good location, just in front the beach!

Best place ever if you want to get involved in L.A. party life, enjoy the beach and meet great new people! The staff is amazing and they make your stay an unforgetable experience- I'll be back! :) The location is a big plus too, as you are close to Santa Monica - Venice itself is sort of creepy at night... Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
