... You won't need it. I stayed at the hostel for 3 nights in a 4-bed all female dorm. The heat in the room was unbearable, and I really did not sleep well because of it. There was a fan in the room, but it did little. It was Hell trying to apply makeup to my sweaty face! So the... More

Fantastic location, seconds away from Venice beach. Friendly hostel run by a group of young guys and girls who sit at reception for 24 hours a day as far as I could tell. Always a party atmosphere and although the hostel itself was slightly small and not exactly cosy, you shouldn't expect that if you'd read the description. Just make... More

I stayed there without real expectations, but that was a great surprise! Nice staff, nice people staying there, right next to the beach... what more can you ask? I will definitely go back for a longer stay.

The location was great. Our 4 bunk beds room had a view of Venice Beach. The room itself was cosy and the bathroom was spacious. We were just a few bus stops away from Santa Monica. For a hostel the cleanliness was very good.

Best place to stay for people travelling on a budget. Breakfast is decent. Beach is walking distance. Club is across the street. Free street parking always available. Nothing luxurious or extravagant.

First up, the location is fantastic. Ten steps out of the door and you're on the beach. Beware of the million hobos outside who yell and spit and beg. Inside the hostel it's clean enough, and the punky girls that work in there are cool as, but the fella with the long hair and beanie who does the night shift... More

As my first ever hostel stay I was a little disappointed. For the price you pay you didn't really get much. The breakfast was minimal, the place was very dirty and the rooms were stinking hot. I had to leave at 7am for a flight and I couldn't access the kitchen to eat something I had brought. Certainly would have... More

I chose this hostel because of the one located in Vancouver, Canada. For my surprise, it wasn't similar, completely different. The place gives you the feel of oldish and not very clean. It is located in a really good place, just next to Venice Beach. I recommend it because it is cheap and only if you are planning to sleep... More

Thank you for the feedback. We are changing our wifi service for better coverage. It just so happens that we are upgrading our rooms- starting the private rooms. New headboards, paint job, wall decorations and much more! Hopefully next time you are in Venice you can take advantage of the upgrades we are currently undergoing. Cheers and safe travels, Sara... Expensive and not very clean (showers, toilets, commun area and sheet). The breakfast was too busy with no place to sit. The private rooms are very small. But if you really want to be near from beach, it is very close from Venice Beach.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. During the summer season we do get more guests (summer travel!) and it requires extended breakfast hours. We will look into implementing longer breakfast hours than 7:30 am to 9:30am. Again, thank you for the feedback and cheers and safe travels. Sara, General Manager More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
