Usually stay at the Westin Bonaventure, but booked here last minute for work. Place recently underwent a big renovation, and it looks the part. Beautiful, big, bright lobby bar and restaurant. Good breakfast with friendly service. Rooms largely on par to your business starwood. Empty fridge a plus, so you can stock your own. My room had a fine view... More

I usually don't take time to write reviews but I do use reviews to make decisions. I cannot see how anyone can rate this at over 3. My wife and I stayed there to attend the Clippers game. Hotel website states Staples Center is .4 miles away. It it not. More like 1 mile away. Internet access is listed as... More

Here for business and I was blown away. Its a GREAT hotel. The staff was very professional and attentive to anything we needed. The lobby of the hotel is fantastic. Very modern and you think you are someplace other than a hotel. Food, drinks, bar staff. all top notch. Valet may be slightly expensive but those guys are pros. Our... More

unfortunately the halls and the rooms smell fusty. I was first on the 7th and then was moved to the 9th. Smelled no better is second room and after investigating halls on a couple of other floors, I decided the problem existed all over. Nice room, spotlessly clean, but only 1 set of towels that were medium to poor quality.... More

Quick check in, extremely friendly front desk staff, very clean well equipped room with minimal noise from neighbors. Also very beautifully decorated. If I had to complain about something it would be parking is rather expensive ($35 a night - valley only) and the elevators are slow. But nothing that detracts from the overall experience.

I stayed here for two nights recently for business on my first time in L.A. The hotel was impressive in its lobby and overall entrance area, with very friendly (and funny) staff for the check in. The room was fairly standard, but well appointed and pretty spacious. I had a view of the sort of downtown area + highway. Having... More

While the renovation of this hotel is not 100% complete, it's still a winner. I was told they still need the outside landscaping done. Nevertheless, it looks wonderful inside. The lobby is very trendy and vibrant, from the luxury chandeliers to their lobby bar's background, to their hip rooms. It's a great spot for visiting downtown. It's walking distance (if... More

After staying at this hotel numerous times since it was the stinky Marriott I would still avoid it if possible. Yes they have shined it up quite a bit but you know what they say about shining a txrd! The elevators are iffy at best(my last visit the Fire department had to come and release some patrons)and at least one... More

Beautiful renovation! Modern with a hip feel. Staff was quite accommodating. Able to access free wireless internet even in the room (they said it was only free in the lobby). Breakfast buffet in restaurant was nice and not overly pricey. Bed was super comfortable, bath only has large shower, though I am ok with no tub. My only small issue... More

We were in a junior suit. The staff was friendly enough but the cost was a little high. Also, they do not provide 24 hour room service which was a bummer after a long night out. all in all though it was a good place with friendly staff. i would go back but not get the suite.

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
