Just walked in the newly renovated LA Downtown Hotel and I must say they have done an awesome job! The lobby is very spacious with gorgeous artwork & decor. Great location! Beautiful rooms! Excellent customer service at concierge & valet. Thanks Omar for all your assistance! I usually do a review once I check out but I am so impressed... More

Stayed here for three nights while attending a conference at the LA Convention Centre. Got a great conference rate, but no roooms available for entire stay in LA< so I moved across the street to the Westin for two nights. This hotel is in the process of rebranding into a Grand Hyatt (I think), so a lot of recent renovations.... More

My stay at the LA Hotel was a nice experience. Here for business I arrived to a fairly quick checkin process with a very nice young lady at the desk. The lobby is very nice, marble everywhere and they have a very nice bar in the lobby. Lots of places to sit and talk. ate breakfast at the restaurant most... More

This is the second time in 5 months that I have stayed at this hotel. It is a very solid choice for downtown Los Angeles. It has been freshly renovated. The lobby looks like an elegant Las Vegas hotel lobby - in a very nice, stylish and classy way - not overdone. The pool area is comfortable and cozy with... More

We had to visit the convention center, 30 min walking distance, and restaurantes, 15 min, and shops, malls, 15 min. Hotel was well priced and the rooms, bed, shower, breakfast were very good. A very good option!

Great central location in the downtown area, friendly staff and cozy rooms! Jennifer (the young lady from Ireland) at the front desk made our stay better by advising us on what to do in LA during our short vacation. We took a tour that she recommended and we had a great time. She was very helpful!

I stayed here for a couple of nights and have no complaints. The staff were helpful and the room was lovely. The bathroom was spotless and it had everything I needed. Well apart from everything needed to make a decent cup of tea but that's just because I'm British 😉. Breakfast is great and there is lots of choice. If... More

We stayed here on 2/15/13 for an event that we were hosting at the hotel. Even though we were told by an events manager that we had an early check in for our event, front desk rudely told us that the hotel could not accommodate the early check-in. We were then provided the key to the wrong room and had... More

Good: The spacious fresh rooms, little details like coffee maker, luggage rack, awesome bathroom, classical music in lobby. nice windows in rooms making one feel like they are in the Downtown. Bad: Limited hours of restaurant late at night, feeling that there is not enough front staff. Ugly: Surly front desk in the AM. Despite nice rooms and solid construction,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
