Stayed here for a convention. Staff couldn't find my reservation so that was frustrating. Ended up just switching to friends room. Our cleaning lady was incredible and truly went outbid the way to take care of us. Downstairs bar is fun, food is expensive for small portions. Room was great, comfy beds & spacious. Area of LA was strange. BET... More

Pretty nice hotel and everyone was friendly and service was prompt. The bellhop was a little over the top on the overly pleasant shakedown upon arrival- really, just help me with the bags, get your tip and go -- I don't need you to run down every little feature and factoid about the hotel after my long travel and hold... If you need to be around downtown LA or LA Live for anything, this is the place to stay. Parking is expensive (around 28 per day, valet only) so driving in is not an option that I would recommend. Sometimes the valet parking and security staff seem overwhelmed because I stayed on a very busy weekend, but other than that... More

We attended a concert over the weekend. Not only is the hotel convenient to staples but they had a happening bar area. The dj played good music! Everyone was dancing. Good vibes. The hotel also carries an aromatherapy shampoo & conditioner that smells amazing!

If you want to be in downtown, this is the hotel to be. Nice and professional welcome service. Good atmosphere in the lobby! Nice and big and clean rooms. Great location! One of my favorite hotels in Los Angeles so far!

Excellent property oriented towards the business traveler, with all the 4-5 star amenities you would expect. Excellent and friendly service. A good selection of restaurants in the area. Did not try the breakfast at the hotel but the coffee was overpriced (and bad) compared to what was available just outside at Starbucks. We were tourists and this was not the... More

this wasn't my first stay at this particular JW. I travel to this area annually for a work event at LACC and this is always my favorite hotel to stay in. Very convenient to the convention center and an easy walk to many of the other hotels and businesses in DT LA. The staff is very friendly, the gym well... More

When I originally booked the hotel for our stay in LA, my wife didn't want the hotel because it was downtown and she thought that it was too dangerous to stay in downtown LA. We discovered that it was completely the opposite. The Hotel and its immediate area were great and quite safe. La Live was fantastic. We stayed 3... More

Anytime I come to LA I will be staying here. Staff is amazing. Hotel is immaculate, and cost is really reasonable. I was upgraded as a platinum member to a huge room (thanks!) - and the staff was super friendly. I have stayed here 3-4 times and each time it is spot on. Definitely stay here if your budget allows... More

My wife and son spent 3 nights at the Marriott. As it was our first visit to L.A. we weren't really sure of the city geography but thankfully we found this fantastic hotel which offered us the ideal location for an L.A. sightseeing break. The hotel is bright, clean and modern with a real buzz. The pool area will take you by... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
