From the authentic furnishings to the absolutely wonderful service, we couldn't have been happier with our stay! It's scary choosing a hotel from pictures on the internet. So we did rely on many of the internet reviews. There are no tv's, no telephones, no pool, no fancy amenities. That's not why we go on vacation. We were delighted with everything... More

I just finished reading the negative review preceding mine...and I couldn't disagree more. My husband and I attended a party at a local winery and didn't want to drive home, so I "splurged" (it is quite pricey!) and decided to stay there. It was a Saturday night, and the band had cancelled last minute....OK for us...we went to the bar... More

I was visitng the quaint little town of Los Alamos which for those of you who aren't familiar, sits obscurely right off the 101 Frwy. - headed North - in the Santa Maria Wine Country. One of those "if you blink you might miss it, off-ramps".....Anyhow, in recent years this ramshackle hotel and former Stagecoach-stop was taken over by new... More

Last weekend 4 of us (2) rooms celebrated a birthday by staying at the Union Hotel. What a blast. There was “free” live music (good band), fun crowd & great staff. The Union Hotel is very rustic, but we knew that & that is what gives it it's charm. When we arrived we were given a tour of the Hotel... More

I visited the Union Hotel for the first time under their new ownership and let me just say this, first impressions are everything, and I was not impressed whatsoever. Things started out okay as my husband and I walked through the door and were both greeted by a very welcoming front desk agent. She stood up very abruptly and told... More

We were travelling down the Pacific Highway from San Francisco to LA, and had to choose somewhere to stay midway between Cambria and LA. We had come across the website for this small town by accident, it not getting a mention in our less than trusty Rough Guide, but it was well worth the detour from the coast. Los Alamos... More

This place is fantastic! Came with a group of friends to enjoy Old Days and just had a wonderful time. The rooms are great, the saloon was fun, and the meal was terrific. Thanks to Pattie and Jazmine for being so accommadating. The Bakersfield group will be back.

Thank you to all the staff at the Union Hotel for a great weekend. We enjoyed the ambience of the old building. The staff were very accommodating (we were upgraded to suite). Best night sleep in ages due to the comfortable beds. Freshly cooked breakfast and the dinner was delicious. The saloon bar was authentic and offered good beer, wine... More

1880 Union Hotel is a very unique, old Western-style place. We stayed in the Sunday Morning room where we felt quite comfortable. The hotel doesn't have luxurious bathrooms or fancy amenities, but that is due to its age, and that is exactly why it's so unique and charming (free wireless internet access shows that it is up-to-date where necessary). The... More
