We stayed at the QM prior to a cruise out of Long Beach. It is charming and historic. People should not expect luxery accomadations from an old cruise ship turned hotel. Looking over some of the negative reviews and seeing their pictures I can attest the there are different types of rooms on the QM. Ours had wood walls and... more

We travelled across the USA on a tour organised by Great Rail Journeys of York between the 7th and 27th October 2009. We had one night on board the RMS Queen Mary. Great Rails provided a tour of the ship to discover more about its fascinating history as a luxurious ocean liner and World War II troop ship. We found... more

DO stay at Hotel Queen Mary if you are looking to experience a historic treasure. DON'T stay there is you are looking for anything chic or luxurious. The room was kind of run down and if it had been any other hotel on land, I would have considered it to be dumpy. However, it is cool to be able to... more

I was SO excited to have the opportunity to stay on the QM for the night -- I had always wanted to, and a business trip to Long Beach was the perfect excuse. Man, was I SHOCKED. I paid close to $300 for a room -- which I would not have paid $60 for. The room was dirty, dimly lit... more

My wife and I attended a wedding reception at Hotel Queen Mary, at the Queen's Salon. The reception hall was big. I would say it's capable of having 300 people comfortably seated. It's a treat that the reception is there, because if you haven't really been on Queen Mary, then you could get a tour of the ship for free... more

....for keeping the RMS Queen Mary alive. We have had a lovely night's stay on the old ship and it has been maintained in a wonderful condition with so many original features . Wandering through the brass and wood lined corridors to the sound of Glen Miller was an authentic trip back in time. The ship's company were great and... more

the ship is showing its age, and we only stayed for one night midweek so we had no neighbours to test the thin walls. its an interesting walk around the ship with the kids, and the rooms are adequate (but a little dark........but it is a ship and nothing can be done about that) but it was the most comfortable... more

Stayed here for one night, would have stayed for two but hotel was full. Staff told us they have 300 rooms and a lot of the time they are fully booked. Our cabin was a first class outside stateroom on B deck wih a lovely view of Long Beach. Yes the walls are very thn but it does say in... more
