We stayed for four days in Nov. We found the hotel staff to be welcoming and helpful. We had dinner in James Republic; the food was good and the service was excellent. The noise level in the restaurant was loud, no fun having to shout at your dinner companion. The room was a good size and it was clean, the... More

The stay was for 3 days the staff was fabulous. The reception area was lovely. The rooms were pretty dated and overdue for new furnishings. The arms of the club chair fabric in our room were very stained by years of hands on the material. One would think they would clean them. The desk chair should be thrown out (... More

The beds are lush and soft with duvets--wonderful after busy sight-seeing days..I like showers with 'confidence' and this Marriott's were full on refreshing! Staff was remarkably friendly from the lovely lady valets to housekeepers--everyone seemed intent on *really* making me their priority..only one breakfast dish was odd: chicken liver mousse with strawberry jam on top (seriously?)..dinner fare was excellent!

I usually avoid Courtyard's because they changed their general lobby decorations from that of being relaxing to the weary traveler to one of more work and fast food. In fact, the Courtyard's used to be a great place to relax for the business-person. Then one day some bright MBA said, "No business folks don't want to relax. They want to... More

Arrived at the hotel at 11 am via cab from the San Pedro cruise after a recent cruise. We were immediately greeted with cold water and a room key. Check in was efficient and easy. Front desk had 4 employees. Walked 1/2 block to the Von's Supermarket for a great sandwich at a great price. There were a number of... More

the hotel is located in downtown LBC which is NOT the most scenic area (E 2nd street X bay shore Blvd is where the actions at). With that said, the hotel STAFF does a pretty good job of welcoming their guests and making them feel appreciated. Here's the PROs & CONs; hope it gives you some guidance. PROS: -customer service... I stayed there on business for 6 days in total. The front desk people were awesome. Very friendly. Rooms are great, comfortable and the restaurant had amazing food. We used the functions room for 1 day and everything was spot on. No hiccups and everything was as said. There is a shopping centre straight across the road. Wi-FI was awesome... More

My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding at this location. Everyone said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I would have to agree. The event planner was great. Everything went as planned with no unexpected issues or charges. We had a lot of family from out of town. We all stayed for the weekend. The staff... More

We needed a place to spend the night to catch an early ferry ride to Catalina and picked the Courtyard Marriot due to decent tripadvisor reviews.
