Had a family cruise with nearly 40 people, we used this hotel as our meeting place before the cruise. Worked out wonderfully-lots of room to gather on the outside patio by the pool. Hot breakfast. They allow you to park your car there for free and shuttle you to and from cruise ship.

Thank you for the comments. It sounds like so much fun to gather with 40 friends and family! Hotel Maya is perfect for that with all of our outdoor seating spaces and fire pits designed for exactly that purpose! Come back next year for another reunion but next time stay longer. :) More

The Hotel Maya is an upscale DoubleTree Inn property just 5 minutes from the Carnival Cruise dock in Long Beach. It is a little hard to find, even with GPS, so watch for the signs. The room was nice and had a Caribbean style. The view of the harbor was nice. Not all of the iwndows have blinds so you... More

We are glad you liked it. We have heard some comments about the blinds not blocking the light and are adding black out curtains in those rooms to address the issue. We hope to see you again before your next cruise of for a longer stay. Thanks again for the comments. More

The shuttle from the hotel into long beach downtown ran every ten minutes and was free which was brilliant. The rooms are spacious and clean and the two occasions we ate in the hotel were satisfactory. If I stayed in long beach again I would definately chose the maya. The only criticism is the noise. This is a very noisy... More

Management response:

Thank you for your comments and I am glad you liked the hotel and the location. The hotel is hit or miss on the noise depending on when you come and what's going on around the hotel or neighboring restaurants or marina so we provide ear plugs in all guest rooms specifically for the light sleepers. We can control most... More

I have stayed at the Maya several times in the past when it was a Coast Hotel. Liked it then and like it better now. We arrived several hours before check-in time and our rooms were actually ready. We had just planned on dropping our luggage, but didn't need to. They gave us our warm chocolate chip cookie- YUMMY! The... More

We are glad you loved and it and can't wait for you to return. It sounds like you hit the majority of the resort highlights and were able to enjoy yourselves before your cruise. Come back again and stay with us again soon. More

I stayed at this hotel as part of a conference in Long Beach, CA. The waterfront location is really nice-- beautiful views. The property consists of 4 buildings with the main desk and restaurant in bldg #1. I was in bldg #4, the very last room on the ground floor. My room faced the pool, and I had a "shared"... More

Thanks for the great comments! We owe you a warm chocolate chip cookie for sure as that is our signature and our standard. We are so happy you enjoyed the hotel and hope to see you back again soon. More

Great hotel. Comfortable, great beds - beautiful surroundings. Very clean and pet friendly - never a concern with cleanliness. Nice people, beautiful fire pits and cabanas, but room service food was bad and there was no movie channels at all and no ability to check out or view room bill. Parking is additional - $17.00 per night.

Very funky place. Staff are helpful. Restaurant was very expensive so we tended to eat over at the Shoreline village which was very nice with a good selection. Our room did not have a balcony which was a bit disappointing. I hadn't realised this when I booked it. A balcony would have made a difference to our stay, although I... More

Thanks for the comments and we are glad you enjoyed the hotel and loved the pool. It is the only waterfront pool in Long Beach. I am guessing you stayed on a weekend as the cabanas are first come first serve the rest of the week other than holidays and weekends. We only have 5 and they do sell out... More

We stayed one night at the Maya. We were attending a wedding. The waterfront location was amazing and the various function rooms, bars, terraces that overlooked the water were exceptional. The location was not so good for getting into downtown Long Beach and although a shuttle bus service IS available we felt that a car would be essential to access... More

Glad you had a great time at the wedding. We host hundreds of weddings here as the amazing waterfront views are the only ones in Long Beach like it. Unfortunatley I have heard the carpet complaint before and though they are not dirty, they do often appear to be dirty due to two things. The first is the actual pattern... More

Room was worn, quirky shape and layout. Not bad, except for carpet which was terrible. No fridge. Restaurant view is absolutely amazing! Dinner was great, breakfast was not worth the $20+ price. Parking adds nearly 20 bucks to the daily rate.

Management response:

Thanks for the comments. The setting is awesome and there is nothing like it anywhere close, especially now that we have built our new 6500 sq foot beach with firepits. Hopefully you got a chance to enjoy that. I was glad to see you also had dinner in Fuego our signature waterfront restaurant. Come back soon. More

We arrived in from Australia and went straight to Hotel Maya for an overnight stay before going on a cruise. It is an older property which has been dressed up and modernised and is split up into a number of different "towers". We were in Building 1 facing the water and Long Beach and we found the rooms were clean,... More

Great to hear you enjoyed a quiet and restful night sleep. It really sounded like you got to enjoy a lot of the hotel with Fuego our signature restaurant, the aqua taxi boat and the passport both which provide direct service to the downtown area five minutes away! We hope you enjoyed your cruise and come back to stay with... More
