Need to get public transport to the city as it is away from any shops or restaurants. The hotel bar and dining is expensive. It was cheaper to go downtown to eat and drink.I would advise getting a hotel nearer.

Usually for my wife's birthday we have a short trip in California, this time it was shorter than usual. This location property is superb in the Long Beach area, close distance to the main attractions and downtown, very good views of the harbor from at least half the rooms. The architectural design of the property is practical, attractive and blends... More

Hotel staff are excellent, friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only comment would be regarding the heating/cooling. Our room was facing east and as the sun comes up with the curtain open the room gets very very warm. The wall A/C was not able to keep the room cool. Over all experience was very good... More

Situated off the water, opposite Long Beach's Rainbow Harbor and a short walk from the historic Queen Mary and Carnival Cruise Ship terminal, Hotel Maya is definitely a neighborhood gem. The staff are amazing and the views are like no other.

I went to Orange County for a 3 day business trip. The hotels that were "approved" by my company in the area all had really poor reviews. Hotel Maya was the closest one that I would have wanted to stay in. The drive was a bit of a pain in Southern California traffic every morning but it was worth it.... More

Thanks for the great feedback. I rarely hear anything about our wifi so I will look into it to see if there was a temporary problem. The parking keys can be an issue though we are updating to a new system which should solve that issue. We look forward to your next visit! More

great ocean views from our room, as well as the Fuego restaurant. Hotel appears a bit dated, with faux plants in room, popcorn ceilings, and buildings very plain appearing on outside. Staff was excellent!

The staff at the hotel was great and they took care of every detail. The hotel is located right in the harbor/bay and walking distance to the Queen Mary. The only negative is there are no restaurants / night life that you can walk to from the hotel.

Thanks for the great feedback! Though there are several restaurants at the Queen Mary and the reef next door in addition to Fuego onsite, the night clubs and main bars in Downtown are about 5 minutes away. The complimentary Long Beach transit shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes by the hotel to this area. You will have to try it... More

Unfortunately, I had to for business. I spent 2 rainy days in a room that was outside of the main hotel making walking back and forth a challenge because of the weather. The room appeared clean, but had a musty, old odor to it that was made worse when I turned the old heater on. The room faced the street... More

Thanks for your feedback. unfortunately you stayed in what they are calling the worst rain storm in history so yes it was a bit damp and you didnt get to fully enjoy the beach, fire pits and waterfront pool areas that make this hotel so special. I hope you come back and try it again without the rain! More

It is very nicely located, just next to the water. It has a nice restaurant with a very nice view, some rooms do not have views. If you plan to go in the cold months be prepared for noisy heaters but the good thing is they have ear plugs in the night console drawers.

Thanka for the nice review! We are glad you enjoyed it and have good news. All of the heaters are being replaced and the project already has 25% of the hotel done and will be completed early next year. Come back and check out the newly renovated rooms! More

Hotel is slightly dated, but VERY well maintained. Great views of the water, excellent happy hour with friendly staff, convenient amenities, spacious rooms (shape makes you feel like you're in a small apartment instead of a hotel room), highly recommend!

Thanks for the great review! We appreciate it. The good news is that the hotel current;y has one whole building out of order for renovation and will be fully renovated by the end of March. Come back and see the new Maya! More
