I was born and raised in the Owen's Valley and I have never experienced such horrible customer service from a local business. We were unfortunately visiting for a funeral and the blatant disregard from the manager and the owner Lynn Ben to help mitigate a problem with our reservation was unacceptable and made an already sensitive situation and our time... This is the third time we have stayed here while the guys have hiked Whitney. This older hotel (there is a newer part but I don't think it had the character) is clean, quaint and everyone is nice. The courtyard is delightfully cool, the benches in the front are great for watching the world go by and having a pool... More

Nicely decorated rooms, we stayed in the motel part and it seemed like they were recently renovated? We stayed here on our way to Death Valley from mammoth lakes. There was a pool and hot tub, and a restaurant (the Grill) next door that we walked to for dinner and the food was good and reasonably priced.

Stayed at Historic Dow Hotel connected to Dow Villa Motel. Service was excellent - we even were assigned extra room when turned out that our reservation did not cover bed for everyone in our party. Our windows looked over Mount Whitney - excellent way to wake up on the morning. On the other hand - old-fashioned air conditioning was a... More

On our roadtrip between Mammouth Mountain and Death Valley, this was the perfect stop. The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of Lone Pine, rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Dow Villa has a nice atmosphere, it's like a step back in time and the town itself is charming. There is no breakfast available, but there are... More

Loved our stay at Dow Villa, such a great place - we stayed in the old bit not the motel bit and we thought it was packed full of charm, super clean and comfortable. Lone Pine is a strange and fabulous little place - we had delicious tacos from Los Hermanos van and swam in the hotel pool which is... More

In Lone Pine, this is the top choice. The main building preserves elements of an historic early 20th century inn, a place that served as home to many film crews from the golden days of Hollywood, when westerns were often shot here. My room was comfortable, except for the inability to turn down the air-conditioning! Outside, the motel section feels... More

We booked two nights in July to coincide with our trip through Death valley. Lone pine is literally a one road town with the 395 going right through it so you can't miss the hotel no matter what direction you arrive from. Our room was beautiful with two queen beds, a full size fridge, a microwave, cable television and a... More

we stayed at the dow villa for one night - in a way long enough as it is a typical motel along the main road. reviews vote it one of the best in lonepine which is OK for room comfort and central location. if you have the time try something else then "the grill" for dinner and breakfast - we... Stayed in motel room with King bed. Clean, with standard amenities, and thankfully fully functioning a/c unit. Pool and hot tub were also very clean and had spectacular views of the mountains. Great location, mid-town, with restaurants close by. Perfect stop-over.
