This is a great vacation. We and another family have camped here but never stayed in the cabins [Plover & Albatros]. They were perfect for our families. We have teens and tweens that are active in the water and out. They had a great time eating Jalama Burgers, roasting marshmellows, star gazing and surfing. We now have some more really... More

Stayed at the alabaster cabin at jalama beach march 9-11. Our family has been camping here for years so thought we'd try cabins ;( Everything from floors to ceiling was filthy dirty. Dishes had spaghetti O's stuck to them..ick!! Don't get me started on the mini blinds, suppose to be white but so dirty they look gray... We had my... More

We stayed in site 16 with our trailer. We had a nice view but stay away from that site!! There is a sulfur pit behind it. If you want to sit outside or open windows, forget about it. All you smell is rotten eggs...it's really strong. Also, watch out for the dog poop.

we camped here for a week, there isn't I would say against it. the experience was unbelievably fantastic. we were up on the last row of tent sites where electricity is available. we opted for that. it also allowed us a fantastic view of the ocean since it sat above the dunes. I would opt for that even if I... More

We stayed 2 nights in tent site #11. There is a steep hill that descends into a dense marsh, which I was a little nervous about with 3 little kids, but it wasn't a problem. I was worried about the tar and wind that most reviewers complain about, but we must have it a good weekend, because there was NONE... More

First off, we loved our stay at Jalama Beach. My 6 year old son and I camped in a tent site. We did not have a view of the ocean from our site due to the sand dunes directly infront of us, but those dunes did help shelter us from the wind. (It does get windy here, but that's part... More

As stated in my title, this was my first time camping. Ever. I'm nearly 32 years old, and my husband finally convinced me to "rough it" overnight. We were invited by a friend and his girlfriend whom had camped at Jalama Beach before, and I was pleasantly surprised! We arrived about 11am. There was no line, as previous reviews stated.... More

Went to Jalama Beach, Friday, June 21st - after leaving Lompoc from my motel - to do some fishing on my birthday. Easy drive from the highway - but wouldn't do it in the dark. Some slightly blind corners and hauling a camping trailer would be a real chore. $10.00 to get in - for day use parking. Strict dog... More

We spent the most wonderful 4 days at this camp. Bookings can be made on-line now as well as reservations for specific spaces. It is a long slow 14 mile drive to get from the highway to the camp, a very narrow curvy, hilly road that deserves all the care you can give it. But once you get there the... More

I think this place is special. Not everyone would agree, I'm sure! It's not the Ritz, but it's not camping either. My vision was a fun family time right on the beach, and all of us would agree that it was. The Albatross cabin slept 6, but there was 4 of us plus 2 dogs and I wouldn't have wanted... More
