We stayed calm and serene with the gorgeous views and scenery. Hard to believe it's just a 5 minute drive to downtown Livermore because it feels so far out in the country. We really enjoyed the scenic beauty where the property is nestled. The staff made us feel like we were personal guests.

Stayed here with two out-of-state couples for a special reunion. We had one of the 2 best rooms, in a separate building. The very high ceiling over the bed had wires coming out of the ceiling from a missing light fixture. The bath was huge but the fancy candleholder next to the tub was hilarious (no candles). Only one of... More

We have stayed here several times, and have always been happy with the Purple Orchid Inn and their food (breakfasts). The larger rooms and deluxe suites are worth the extra charge; the deluxe suites have in-room mini refrigerators and microwave and sooo much extra space. Whenever we have asked for any special needs (ice for our cooler, special food needs,... More

My husband and I got lucky making a last-minute (ie. within 5 days) reservation at the Purple Orchid. This was our first time staying at the property and we will most definitely be back (this time, we won't leave it to chance... we'll book well in advance as the 10 rooms fill up fast). We were only here for 1... More

We stayed at this site for three days while attending a wedding in Livermore. The location is wonderful as there are 40 wineries nearby. The owners Derek and Rhiannon Eddy were very knowledgeable of the area and provided good information on wineries and dinning options. The room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. If you are going to... More

We stay here periodically to get away from the hustle and frustrations of work. The spa is a log cabin style retreat that looks like it should be in the Canadian Northwest, but is nestled in the foothills of the Livermore vineyards and open spaces. The grounds are beautifully kept, each room is unique and comfortable. There is a conference... More

Me and my wife had the pleasure of staying at this great inn this past February. We are from NYC and visit ther Bay Area frequently to see our son who attends Cal Berkeley. Although we only could stay one night it felt like a whole weekend. After checking in we relaxed by the pool and lovely grounds. At 5pm... More

My wife stayed 2 nites in March for a local quilting class. I arrived late on Friday, had a chance to meet the Innkeepers and several of their staff. All wonderful, helpful folks. I had to leave early the next day to retrieve my plane - Derrick was very accommodating, providing a sumptuous breakfast early. Overall: wonderful accommodations, service and... More

We live in the Northern California Bay Area, and to celebrate our wedding anniversary, my wife and I wanted to do something special, but we didn't want to fight with weekend traffic or deal with airport stress, so we decided to look locally. Our first thought was Napa or Sonoma, but they are still hours away in heavy traffic. Then... More

We found this charming inn while in Livermore tasting some great wines. Everyone including the owners were very cordial and helpful and made us feel welcome as soon as we entered the door. Beautiful grounds in a peaceful setting. Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely return. Excellent breakfast also. M. A. Benick
