After a very stressful few months of real estate dealings I needed to get away and basically not think about anything for a couple of days. My husband and I had purchased a Groupon for this place so we were off to one of our favorite areas in the world. The fiasco of booking a room through the Groupon deal... More

Whoever owns this inn is a right good scam artist. The website neglects to show you their moldy, motel type, bathrooms and moldy closets. Even one of the more expensive rooms only has a distant view of the ocean, and is dark and dusty. As far as service went there was none. There was neither any room service or housekeeping... More

You won't get an ocean view, but if you rise early, you may get a chance to see the llamas next door. This secluded spot offers lovely garden views and a short walk to the ocean. The rooms are quite large and offer real fireplaces. They're comfortable and quiet - just what you want in this area. While we were... More

I'm writing this review because there are so many places in the Mendocino area and this resort is well worn, dirty, and lacks service. They say we will go above and beyond but the room we were sold on when we reserved was not clean/ready so they gave us the room across from it which looks out to the parking... More

We purchased the Groupon in October for our first-time visit in early December at Stevenswood for $199 for two nights' stay, then had to go to the property website to select our dates and room. The $199 rooms were all booked within 20 minutes of logging on and we ended up paying nearly $600 for three nights' stay. When we... More

The reality of this retreat is far from what they say on their website. No onsite restaurant which you aren't told about until after you make your reservation and there are no refunds. No maid service, minimal staff on hand most of the time. Wine tasting was never available when we were present. They tack on addtl fees so read... More

I like to just list my pro's and con's of where I stay as to not overwhelm folks with large paragraphs. So here goes................. Pro's 1. Great secluded location 2. Pet friendly (if you like pets), they have a resident dog and cat on the premises but they are both well behaived. 3. Nice, clean rooms 4. Lobby kept up... More

This is the perfect inn if you travel with your dog. The KENT is an ideal room as it is on the main level with outdoor access nearby. The room is large with beautiful expansive windows overlooking gardens and a peek of the ocean. Ample supply of plush towels and an extremely comfortable king size bed.

I arrived here already anticipating something was up having learned that there was nobody available directly by phone ordinarily. Most hotels have a phone and a human answering it 24/7. I found when I arrived why other than a few reviews probably written years ago, all other reviews suggested this place was mediocre at best. They refuse to refund for... More

Nothing about Stevenswood Spa rates more than one star with the exception of the comfortable bed. Breakfast menu looks great but due to ongoing well-related water problem, the reality is a breakfast buffet substandard to anywhere else (large chains included). It was served in a lounge with no tables (couches, chairs but no where to set food down) on paper... More
