I want to start this off by saying that my husband and I travel several times a year for fun and leisure. We usually stay at 4 or 5 star places and understand you get what you pay for....usually :O) The evening we arrived the managers had left for the day. Our keys and a lovely welcome note were left... I had done a bit of research, and The Andiron looked promising, but my friend and I were on an adventure; we made no reservations, just drove until we saw something we liked. We pulled in to a big plot of land just across Highway 1 from the ocean in Little River, cabins (2 units each) dotting the sloping landscape.... More

We had rented the William and Mildred cabin for our anniversary and loved it. It was perfect for the occasion. The tribute to Madeline's parents was touching. Finding the old records and record player made my day! Scott and Madeline are nice people and special thanks to Kate for the special touches waiting on us when we arrived. -Angie H

We have stayed at The Andiron three times in the past seven years and it just keeps getting better with each visit. The staff is helpful, the rooms are always clean and they have such fun touches all around the property. This time we stayed in #1- Nature, and I loved the vintage viewfinder with tons of reels from the... More

We stayed in one of the charming cottages decorated with memorabilia from the 20th century with the theme of "read". Our bed, which was lovely and comfortable, had a view of the ocean. A fireplace, kitchenette, nice bathroom, homemade treats upon arrival and dog friendly room made our two night visit perfect. We will be back.

The Andiron is a great place: every detail has a history, the furniture is for the most part salvaged. We spent one night in the Read room: everything is so well-thought: whoopie pies and a little note to welcome us, books everywhere, a fireplace with logs ready to use, comfortable couches to read with a cup of tea/coffee, a retro... I looked at all the b&b's in the area and then found The Andiron. The cabins are older and everything is retro. The website explains what to expect. It is perfect, simple and quiet. We had a wonderful stay and loved the personalized note and whoopie pies. The owner explained where everything was located and was very pleasant. If we... More

I am actually still here at the cabin and had to write this review; I am disgusted at the previous negative reviews. This place is unlike anything I have ever stayed in- even if you don't dig the decor, it's got to be appreciated for the level of detail and the care that has gone into this place. I do... More

I needed a long weekend -- just me and my dog -- near the ocean. Goal: to jerk my brain out of work funk and into relaxation mode. The Andiron, here we come. I landed in cabin #2 (Nature) amid antique campfire cookery books, watchful owl lamps, and a glorious wood burning stove. Aaaaaah perfection. My stay was so enjoyable.... More

We had such fond memories of being out here as a couple a few years ago that we came back - this time with our newborn in tow. From the moment we stepped into our cabin (the space- and science-themed Curious, complete with telescope, ViewMaster, bird call and more) we were reminded of the retro charm of the place. It's...
