I spent a delightful evening in a beautiful and rustic cabin at this historic inn. The main buildings were brought here from the ghost town of Bodie. The place exudes charm, and the views overlooking Mono Lake are unsurpassed. True, if you are looking for modern conveniences like TV and telephones, pass this inn by, go on to Lee Vining,... More

This should be a $60-80 establishment. Less facilities than a budget motel - advertised as cottage but no self catering facilities, except for small fridge. Aircon was not working. Paid $155, no breakfast. Breakfast charged at additional $20 per person. Worst WiFi. Take note, there is a lot of traffic noise - rooms not isolated. Bathroom not as advertised.

* Overpriced!! * The room smelled intensely like cheap deodorizer to "cover" something. Perhaps a skunk's dan by the bathroom window * No chairs in the bedroom, no bedside table, one ugly dresser and cheap bed were the only furniture, a wire barb as a "decoration" by the head bed (really?) noisy light/fan in the bathroom (thank goodness we knew... Our plan was to stay three nights at the Lodge but it seems that most clients stay only one night. Retrospectively, I think they were smarter than we were. The Lodge's website is slightly misleading as it suggests the rooms are better than what they are in reality. Apparently the only rooms with two beds that were available are the... More

The owner is a very nice lady who informed us that their well went dry a week ago because of the drought. She offered us a discounted rate, provided bottled water in the room and a 5-gallon bucket of water to refill the tank after flushing the toilet. It's adorable place and the owners have done a lot to fix... More

The Lodge is very close to the road and the lodge we stayed in was basic but comfortable. The lodge did have a restaurant on site which offered Breakfast and evening meals cooked locally,. though we only stayed one night so we did not taste the delights. The rooms were clean and I thought they were okay, my daughter thought... More

We have the stayed here 3 times because we feel for the price it is a reasonable value. So here are the pluses and minuses. Pluses: most rooms are a bit cheaper than other rooms in Lee Vining with easy access to mono lake and going into the Saddlebag and Tuolome Meadows for fishing. It has gorgeous Mono Lake views.... This is a pretentious, awful place. We were told the price was high because the rooms are "historic." We had to sign a lengthy contract and expected to find a cozy, comfortable room. Instead, we discovered that the room was noisy, right next to highway 395, and the beds are uncomfortable. The furnishing is cheap and fairly tasteless.

We were tired after traveling through the Yosemite meadow and Tiogo Pass and this and another motel were rated the same in Trip Advisor. The rustic cabins would not be bad if the beds were more comfortable and the noise from the highway were abated with some sound proofing. I like a firm bed, but the bed in our room... More

We stayed here one night. The motel consists of a number of "cabins", some of which are interconnected. The rooms were clean and the furnishings are rustic, seemingly hand-made from local logs and wood. The bed was reasonably comfortable, although the mattress squeaked loudly whenever anyone moved on it. The motel is right beside rt. 395 and can be noisy,... More
