Contrary to most of the recent reviews here, we found the Lake View Lodge to be better than our expectations. Yes, the view is only just in sight from some rooms, but was more than compensated by the cleanliness and generous size of the rooms. Our room #57 had a fridge & microwave. The a/c didn't cool albeit being set at 60ºF. Paint peeling from places and the room needed refreshing (smelled stale). Location was great. Ask for 2nd floor, farthest from office for quiet room. Basic rooms view of lake VERY minimal from balcony of any room. more

We spent two nites at this Lodge, very disappointed,There is no lake view unless you have a crane to lift you over buildings in front ! We made our reservation based on its close proximity to Mono Lake. We asked for a quiet cabin with two beds, and were given a cabin away from the street behind the main complex with one double sized bed. The cabin was very small and is actually a manufactured home. My wife, infant child and I stayed 5 days at one of the "cozy cottages." The place had a small kitchenette with microwave, two stove burners and small fridge/freezer. The cabin was "cute" and separated from other cabins so this was good since we had a small infant who can get fussy at times. Our stay would have been excellent... more

Every accomodation in Yosemite Valley were booked solid.....so we were forced to look outside of Yosemite for accomodations. Lee Vining was the closest town from the eastern gateway of Yosemite. After taking a look at each of the small, worn down hotels and motels in the area, we chose the Lake View Lodge. It was a basic typical motel style... more

Fortunately, we only stayed there for one night. The service was barely existing. They advertised high speed wireless internet connection. It didn't work at all. The room was rather small and we had a whole in the window which I didn't think leaves the best impression of a hotel.... To me, the room was defenitely overprized. more
