We stayed at El Mono for a stopover on our roadtrip. We were pleasantly surprised by the motel. Our room was clean and cosy. Shared bathrooms were clean. Quality coffee was served to enjoy in the lovely garden. What more to ask for? We'll definitely visit again if we are touring around the area.

We stayed at El Mono Motel after two days visiting Yosemite National Park, on our way to Las Vegas. To be honest we had seen some good reviews and some not so good but it rated high among the (few) places in Lee Vining. I am giving it a VERY GOOD rating for the following reasons. The room was adorable,... More

We stayed here after visiting Yosemite. We wanted to see sunset and sunrise at mono lake but it turned out to be rainy and cloudy during our stay. The lake was still pretty though. We checked it just before 9pm and was the last room to do so, staff were very friendly. The room was clean and had a sink... More

We had Room 4 which had a double and a queen bed and not much more. The tiny bath was off of the double bed room. No AC, but ceiling fans and screen windows kept the room acceptably cool overnight. Beds were comfy, room was clean. 2 guest chairs and table by room's front door offered a pleasant enough place... More

This is the second time I've been to Lee Vining, and the first stay I've had at the El Mono. The motel is small, but really comfortable with a lovely garden! The rooms might be a little on the small side if you were planning to stay here for a while, but I found it to be fine for a... More

I lead bird watching field trips into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I rented three rooms for my clients and myself. My clients were satisfied with the rooms. Of course want a hilton type room. I find the rooms as comfortable, clean and affordable. The front desk staff is very good. I will use the El Mono Motel again. One suggestion is... More

The room (shared bath) was basic and smallish (with 2 x twin beds) but clean, comfortable and functional. For example, there were extra electrical outlets - most classic hotel rooms have way too few of them. The real appeal is the hominess of the place (and in fact, the entire town!) it's like it never left the simplicity of the... More

We stopped here before taking Tioga to Yosemite next day. Friendly staff, clean and quiet room with two chairs out front. Room is very small though and I would recommend a room with two single beds when travelling with two people as a double bed is small and bouncy. Coffee and sandwiches the next morning were great and reasonably priced!

We loved El Mono Motel--what a lovely place. It set the tone for our road trip, and was just the way we wanted to spend our first evening. I had cut my leg before even arriving, but having the sink in the (small but nicely appointed) room helped us deal with that. And then we could sit outside in the... More

We were planning to drive from Lake-Tahoe to Yosemite, since we didn't want to go through Yosemite & Tioga pass at night we started looking for some location on the way which is a good tourist spot when we found Lake Mono and town Lee Vining. We found this hotel online called them & booked online. When we reached there... More
