I know some people's reviews have said that it is a little tired which is probably fair but I had a great night's sleep in a very comfortable room. It is reasonably priced and the reception staff were lovely and really helpful. The view of Mono Lake from the balcony outside my room was breathtakingly beautiful. The sunrise in the... More

This little motel in Lee Vining looks a little on the aged side. If you don't need to stop in Lee Vining then I would probably keep driving because there's nothing there. Some of the rooms are literally right in the highway but ours was spectacularly overlooking the Mono Lakes. They said there was internet but we never really got... More

The good thing about the motel is that it is close to Mono Lake that we wanted to see, The fan/ air maker was noisy and disturbed our sleep as well as the thin walls and neighbors walking near themThis is an old facility, a bit needs a renovation, the queen beds ׳sink' in the center. It was overpriced for... More

A horrible smell like dead animals or broken drains, we should have asked for another room. A wear-Down place, but a fine view of the Lake, and a quiet place. Not a very welcoming receptionist, didnt even look up to say "hi" when we came in.

My wife and I were on our way back to California from a brief stay in Utah visiting Bryce and Zion. We planned our trip well in advance on the way to Utah but on the way back it was more spontaneous. We chose the Gateway because it was on a route chosen through Mammoth and Mono Lakes. The price... More

Well, you shouldn't expect a 5* hotel and yet i decided to grade it excelent since it is perfect for the basic needs of the common traveler and all for a fair price: 1.Location - close to eastern entrance to Yosemite park. 2. Turistic sights close by: mono lake, june lakes, mammoth lakes 3. Room was big spacious with king... More

This place charges the same rates as I'm paying Best Western Plus elsewhere but doesn't look like the owners have done any renovation since 1980. Loads of small flies in the room. No A/C. Paint and brickwork in a terrible state. On the plus side it has free wifi and HD TV. I've not left bad reviews before but this... More

I read the reviews and was a little skeptical about booking. I agree with the no A/C-bit of a disappointment but since the weather was cool there was no need for one. We stood in the rooms downstairs (can't remember which room number) it was nice, clean spacious and the bathroom was large and updated. The only noise we encountered... More

Small courtyard and multi level lay out affords a distant view of the lake from the highway. Restaurants and small grocery supply store, and sports stores are all immediate neighbors. Nice evening spent in the mountains, fortunately the forest fire smoke has cleared and blue skies have returned.

We stayed here overnight on our way through to yosemite national park, was centrally located, functional and all we needed for the brief stay. Right on the main rd and just down from the general store and restaurants.
