Lee Vining is located just outside the eastern entrance to Yosemity. The fact that the motel is outside of the park means that the cost is considerably lower. Our room faced Mono Lake and it was big enough to fit a double bed, a table, two chairs and a big screen TV. The bathroom was quite big and looked like... More

We paid $200 for room barely large enough to fit the bed. The bathroom only fit one person at a time, and the shower barely fit one (and we're not large people). The room was right on the highway, and for the early hours of the night, we were serenaded with either road traffic (big rigs) or police radios (for... More

We paid twice the price for a good Travelodge motel room in Bishop, however it has no air conditioning, no breakfast and the rooms are really rundown and not well finished ( except for the bathroom ).

My husband and I recently took a 10 day roadtrip around Northern(ish) California in late June/early July of 2014. I used Trip Advisor extensively in selecting hotels for this adventure. This review is part of that vacation. Day 2 - we left Tahoe and needed a place to land before heading into Yosemite the next day. This seemed to fit... More

I’d made a reservation for this motel the previous morning and a good thing too, when we got there, there was no vacancy. In any case, if you want to stay in Lee Vining, it’s always a good idea to have a reservation, since this is the gateway to Yosemite, but there is a very limited number of motels/guest rooms.... Too late to get a room in Yosemite Park, we booked our room early in May for a stay 11th June and payment was taken at the time of booking. We had a partial view of Mono Lake, the bathroom had been refitted and the room was clean with a comfortable king bed - those were the positives. We arrived... More

This place is very dated to say the least. No ac. Very pricey for no frills. You step out your door and your on the road. It was clean. The wind blows through town about 35 mph I guess this is the no need for ac. Not much in in town but there are good places to eat. Across street... More

We stayed here in a 2 queen room with our 2 kids for two nights. At this price point, I would expect more. It will be a nice motel if the price is around $100 bucks. Our younger one still sleep in crib, but we were told they are not allowed to carry cribs. I dont know why, but it is... More

We stayed one night at the Yosemite Gateway Motel during our trip from Bryce Canyon to Yosemite. The motel is old and expensive but the staff when we checked in were friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic and comfortable and quiet at night despite being right next to the highway. The air-con unit was fairly loud but not too... More

We had travelled over the Tioga Pass wanted to visit Bodie & Mono Lake & wanted to stay somewhere where we could walk to dinner & breakfast the next morning. Yosemite Gateway Motel fulfilled our needs. We had made our booking some months previously & felt we paid a fair price. Our room was on the lower level, with a... More
